I have attended many Christmas markets over the years. They are so crowded especially at the moment as German children finished school for the Christmas holidays. Frightening, my prayers are with all the victim's šŸ™

When you hear people on here talking about immigration, do you think that's relevant to this conversation - as most of this already exists in law.

It also applies to people who live here and were born here.

I can remember the Hungerford massacre, Dunblane, the bombings in the gay bars in London - all tragedies that men perpetrated and were perpetrated by people born in the UK.

I can remember all the IRA bombings - the IRA did have a political cause which is the definition of terrorism. To further political aims through violence and intimidation.

ISIS have / had their reasons for committing terrorism.

But there are plenty of cases where men have killed others for no obvious reason. You can only look at the school shootings and other mass shootings in the USA to see that.

I agree that radicalisation is so easy - and if we had more access to guns in the UK, we would see more male violence carried out in the UK.

Isis have their reasons for killing innocent people ? Don't dare try to normalise awful atrocities. Their is no reason for taking the lives of the innocent who have no part in their movement.. how bloody dare you.

It’s not political agenda - it’s genuine concern. As for you it’s CLEAR it IS political which makes you blind to the reality what’s happening.

You can’t keep calling people racist forever when the evidence that it’s a massive failure continues to mount up along with dead bodies.

If you had a thousand skittles and one was laced with rat poison would you still offer the bowl to a child to take one on the off chance they wouldn’t pick the poisoned sweet?

Many men kill women.
Men have committed mass shootings in the USA.
Men have bombed gay bars, murdered children in schools, shot innocent civillians.

What do you want to see happen to people who have come here from overseas and people who were born here to people who came from overseas?

Edited

ISIS have their reasons.
I don't agree with them but they have their reasons.
The IRA had their reasons.
Are you trying to shut down conversation about this?

cakeorwine · 23/12/2024 08:46

How do you think people get radicalised online?
The terrorist group radicalises them with their ideology and gives them justifcation to carry out their activities.
They give the person a reason, a motivation to carry it out.

OneAmberFinch · 23/12/2024 08:47

Why is everyone so fixated on "he wasn't explicitly a jihadi so it's okay then"?

Shouldn't the lesson be "maybe we should be a lot more wary about anyone we bring in from an area with a lot of ethnic tensions, because those tensions are going to become our problem"?

By default most refugees are going to come from those areas. And if the last couple of decades of engagements in the Middle East (should) have taught us anything, it's that that region isn't divided into clear goodies and baddies - or certainly that we're not very good at distinguishing between them. Maybe we should leave well enough alone, whether it comes to interfering in their wars or bringing the fight to our own shores.

No I'm not at all but reasons don't come into it. It should not be happening. The IRA reigned terror during the 80s. The bottom line is radicalisation needs to be nipped in the bud.
Where are these people becoming radicalised? Shut it down.
Who is radicalising? Jailtime or deportation if not from UK
Are children u18? Parents also need to face charges for their crimes for failing to monitor them
Radicalisation & terror cells need to be cut off at the root be that an org like the ira or isis . No threat to society should be accepted, no excuses made .

Someone has posted a YT video where he is clearly shouting aloo akbar while being arrested. Presume he expected the car to detonate.

Do you think that ISIS could give reasons to their supporters to carry out atrocities?

That is how people get radicalised.

This comment did sound like someone does not understand how people get radicalised

"sis have their reasons for killing innocent people ? Don't dare try to normalise awful atrocities. Their is no reason for taking the lives of the innocent who have no part in their movement.. how bloody dare you"

I saw that too , it's literally all over twitter which complety debunks the media claims. No wonder people no longer trust the mainstream media...
He has also posted support for Hamas.

A few quotes on the tip offs and their investigation

''The head of the federal criminal police, Holger Münch, told the public broadcaster ZDF that his office received a tipoff from Saudi Arabia in November 2023 that led authorities to launch ā€œappropriate investigative measuresā€.

Abdulmohsen had ā€œpublished a huge number of posts on the internetā€, Münch said, and also ā€œhad contact with various authorities, making insults and even threats. However, he was not known to have committed acts of violence.ā€

And

Der Spiegel magazine said the Saudi secret service alerted Germany’s spy agency BND last year to a post in which Abdulmohsen threatened Germany would ā€œpay a priceā€ for its treatment of Saudi refugees.

And

Germany’s federal office for migration and refugees said it received a tipoff about the suspect last summer. ā€œThis was taken seriously, like every other of the numerous tips,ā€ it said, adding that it had passed the tip on to relevant authorities.

No attempt to shut down debate. I completely understand how people become radicalised but don't say "their reasons".
There is no excuse for senseless killing . I think much more work needs to be done on a community level to report people of interest who may be linked to any extremist group or cause . What happened in Germany must not be allowed happen again.

And yet they still allowed him to kill 5 & injure 200.. surely with this information families of the victims will be able to take legal proceedings against the state for failing to protect it's citizens??

Not sure what slur means but a fact anyway feel free to look for yourself. My spelling may not be perfect but that doesn't change any facts.

I am all in favour of opposing senseless killing, and I eagerly await the countless threads brimming with indignation about all the British and other European people, mostly men, who kill innocent victims. Because they're the vast majority of perpetrators of such crimes. Or is that not what it is about?

In defense of the op , many in the UK are not fluent in Arabic. I'm sure if you use your imagination you know the meaning.
Look on twitter the video is everywhere.

Also that is a very sacred phrase in the Islamic world, how dare you be so disrespectful & call their holy phrase a "slur"
How very far right of you. Raise yourself!

That has been widely disputed on twitter where it was trending most of yesterday

And alternative explanation is that the police officer shouted 'lie down' to the suspect who was on the ground and suspect replied 'I will'

Not reported in any sensible publication as far as I can see

It is a slur if it is used to infer that someone is a terrorist. And there is this thing called Google that lets you look up how to spell things. You don't have to be fluent in Arabic to get this one right.

Only suits "sensible publications" when it aligns with their agenda!
We were supposed to believe a tweet about his support of adf & anti immigration but they are refusing to post video evidence of him shouting 'Allahu Akbar’ & are trying to say he's saying something different.

Honestly , people are not fools. The video is there clear as day

It is a fact he said it, and it makes it more likely he's a terrorist, no?

I don't give a crap what you think of my spelling, so we're clear.

The suspect has been charged with 5 murders and over 200 attempted murders and remanded in custody. No terrorism charges - would this be usual @katter to make them separately or at a later date?

The little boy has been named Andre GleiBner

Story no longer seems to be on the front pages in the UK - probably different in Germany

I'm not an expert.
I think they are still trying to figure out the exact motive and if it fits the definition of terrorism.
Some bloody idiot has posted a video on TikTok with another threat 😔
