I have attended many Christmas markets over the years. They are so crowded especially at the moment as German children finished school for the Christmas holidays. Frightening, my prayers are with all the victim's šŸ™

He was a psychiatrist who rehabilitated criminals so yes, he would have done a great deal of good. He also went off the rails in spectacular fashion. Most rational human beings know that life isn't simple.

As for the NHS and the care system - you think they can cope without immigrants?

Let me guess - Reform voter, right?

I really don't understand this argument. There are plenty of countries that have good care and health systems without having mass immigration. We did ourselves up to the early 2000s when mass immigration started(in fact as someone quite old now I can confirm the NHS was much better in the 90s and you could actually get an appointment quickly). Very few immigrants work in care/NHS and are more likely to be NHS patients which is a big reason why NHS is struggling with the weight of 15 million extra people since the 90s.

We don't need to speculate about his reasons. He was obviously mentally ill. We have to consider if it is a good thing to have few restrictions on entry for people who are literally and as proven in many court cases: dangerous, criminal, genocidal, misogynist, low intelligence, prone to grooming, raping, child-abuse, and cost taxpayers more than they contribute. That is literally and exactly the policy of the UK government for the last 30 years. Is anyone allowed to say it is not a good idea, and maybe we should not become a minority in our own country or do we just get arrested for pointing it out?

So you are saying that you think the people who have come to our country in the past are, in your view, "dangerous, criminal, genocidal, misogynist, low intelligence, prone to grooming, raping, child-abuse, and cost taxpayers more than they contribute" and that you are concerned that we are becoming a minority in our own country?

We have had a lot of immigration over the years. Do you believe that of all immigrants who have come here?

coxesorangepippin · 22/12/2024 22:10

He is anti Muslim. Anti Muslim society like Saudi. He wanted to save women from what he sees as the evil Saudi Muslim country.

i think the NHS would do just fine without immigrants. Earlier we posted a lot of links showing immigrants from developing countries are net drains on the economy, receive a lot more benefits than they contribute, cost taxpayers a lot of money. It is obvious that if we had fewer of immigrants from developing countries we would be better off financially. Not to mention the shock and alienation people feel when parts of the country they loved and grew up in are transformed to parts of Pakistan or Somalia. I am sure people in Somalia and Pakistan would resent if large parts of their country was taken over by foreigners who didn't understand them and disliked them.

19% of nhs workers are not british.
It's great that the NHS can manage without those employees.
Could you send them over to Germany, we could really use those guys.

Treetops11 · 22/12/2024 22:12

katter · 22/12/2024 21:37

He wasn't a low skilled immigrant and not a drain on the economy.
He worked as a psychiatrist with convicted criminals, which I think has probably a positive effect on society. Unless you don't believe in rehabilitation. We also don't know if he was already radicalized in Saudi Arabia.
If he was, the authorities really fucked up.
If he wasn't an arabic speaking doctor would certainly be an asset, don't you think?

I don't think it's a positive thing that this man was working with people's minds. How do we know he wasn't indoctrinating them?

So you are now saying that you do understand why someone might want to flee a rich, democratic country where most people feel safe because they don't feel safe themselves?

Interesting bit of flip flopping, isn't it?

How many immigrants are not working in the UK, have many children & are a drain on society? How do those numbers compare to those in the NHS.
How many in schools across the country with no English & parents make no effort to learn the language & support their children's education? TAs & schools struggling to cope with these children & it's having a knock on effect on other children in the class.
These are the questions that need answering.

As a female I no longer feel safe in my designated personal female spaces now that men can infiltrate them whenever they feel like it by saying they "feel" like a women .

You said before that you couldn't understand why someone would want to flee Saudi Arabia as it was a rich country which was safe and you had friends working there.

You said that you would want to claim asylum in Saudi Arabia because it felt safe for you as a woman.

You know that LGBT people can face the death penalty there for same sex relationships and that being trans is illegal there.

So have you changed mind now and you can now understand that some people might want to claim asylum because they think Saudi Arabia is dangerous for them?

Into right wing anti- islamic terrorists?
Might be, we will probably see in the future.
There hasn't been any evidence for that though.

Quite the opposite I suspect.

He is the exact same as all the others who seeked asylum in a country then turned around & committed the most evil atrocities against the goof people who offered him refuge in their country

I'm beginning to wonder if English isn't your mother tongue. Which would add an interesting element to your statements.

dcbgr · 22/12/2024 22:23

There have now been several detailed studies that show immigrants from high income countries are net positive to the countries they move to. But immigrants from Africa and the middle east are an enormous cost to tax payers. Around 2 million dollar costs over their life time. See the links previously. Not only that, some immigrants obviously degrade our quality of life by being noisy, dirty, corrupt, misogynist, cruel to animals, grooming and raping girl children. If your own lived experience doesn't show this go check out the statistics. This is not invented: it happens. So the question is: if we continue in this track white English people will be a minority in 40 years and extinct in 100 years. If we try and change things we may continue as a people in a country we have made our own, lived in for 2,000 years and given the world incredible gifts of science, art and literature.

Well maybe I'll try & seek asylum in Saudi Arabia & see if they give me the welcome & refuge that is given here in Europe . They are a very rich country , why wouldn't they support me?
We do the same for their oppressed. It should work both ways!

It's probably easier and quicker just to find a job there and emigrate

No . So it's ridiculous saying he supported one group. His other predecessors who carried out atrocities are linked to ISIS.
At the end of the day they all have the common denominator of being given shelter & asylum in a country who protected them in their time in need, they repaid their new country & it's citizens by carrying out grave terror attacks murdering & injuring the very ones who welcomed them

Of course it isn't ridiculous. What's ridiculous is that you cannot move past the fact that the man was a brown man from Saudi Arabia and ditch all of your preconceived notions of what that means. The man supports Afd, he supports the far right, he is anti Muslim and he also carried out a grave terror attack. He is not the first member of the far right to do so.

Yes but they should offer asylum seekers from Europe who feel oppressed the same refuge ,shelter & benefits that their citizens recieve in Europe. It can't be a one way system!

Saudi Arabia aren't signatories of the 1951 Refugee Convention so it could be a struggle for her.

Saudi Arabia aren't signatories of the 1951 Refugee Convention so it would be very hard to claim asylum there.

Similar to how American ignored Saudi warnings re 9/11. If there is truth in this there could & should be huge lawsuits against Germany if intel could have prevented this atrocity.

So it basically is a one way system so. That's not very fair it & another example of how division is caused within nations.
