Unfunny comedians

We've covered lousy actors and questionable singers. A further spin-off: who really isn't that funny, past or present? I offer:

Hale and Pace
Freddie Starr
Lenny Henry

Mean-spirited, I know.

On the plus side, I did like Jimmy Tarbuck. I'm probably being unfashionable but his delivery as a stand-up was perfect, even if some of the jokes wouldn't go down well today.

One I forgot. Alexi Sayle. He was unfunny as the landlord in "The Young Ones" and has gone down hill from there on. Political ranting is not comedy.

I gather he's turned to writing now. I for one am not sorry.

Most of the time he’s being ironic though and sarcastic and taking the piss out of those that would take the piss. Watching him for 45 seconds really isn’t indicative of his humour. He’s an animal lover and seems to have a good heart so whilst taken at face value it might look unkind, it t get to know where he’s coming from you realise that he’s an advocate of what’s fact/fiction/right/wrong.

He’s really clever, think he went to Oxford. He’s on the side of women for example. I sound like a fan girl 🤣 I’ve only seen a few of his stand up acts on TV!

Edited

He didn't go to Oxford, but yes he is clever. He studied Philosophy at UCL. I didn't like The Office but I think Afterlife is brilliant.

Michael bloody Macintyre. Nobody finds him as funny as he does. You’ll notice he’s seldom on panel shows like QI, Have I got news for you, 8 out of 10 cats etc. This is because he’s absolutely devoid of any spontaneous humour.

He doesn't do panel shows because he doesn't need the exposure or the money. He's said many at time that he prefers stand up to panel shows. You may not find him funny, and that's fine, everyone has their own tastes, but to say he's not funny is incorrect. Millions find him hilarious, which is why he regularly sells out huge arenas....

The cheeky girls sold out venues. It doesn’t makes them great musicians…..

I think most panel shows are more scripted and less spontaneous than they appear

Nick Dixon.

I've watched Headliners on GB News for years. Nick Dixon isn't funny. I only realised he identifies(?) as a comedian when I looked him up.
