Unfunny comedians

We've covered lousy actors and questionable singers. A further spin-off: who really isn't that funny, past or present? I offer:

Hale and Pace
Freddie Starr
Lenny Henry

Mean-spirited, I know.

On the plus side, I did like Jimmy Tarbuck. I'm probably being unfashionable but his delivery as a stand-up was perfect, even if some of the jokes wouldn't go down well today.

Romesh is the poster boy for lazy producers casting.
It used to be Tony Slattery in the 90s but at least he made a bloody effort!
Rosie Jones. I feel bad for her but shouldn't really as she must be raking it in.
There were some fabulous acts on the circuit who barely got a look in for telly. It's never been about talent.
Really can't stand Harry Hill either. Same schtick for nearly 40 years. Yawn.

I didn’t like Rosie Jones and almost didn’t watch Taskmaster because she was on it, but I liked her on that. She was genuinely funny.

Comedy is very subjective, but at least we can all agree that Micheal Macintyre isn’t funny.

so many modern comedians come across as smug and too clever.

I like him too, he has a childish humour, much nicer than nasty comedians who put people down all the time.

Where are you watching him where he’s now just sweating loads and acting like Jim Carey? He retired over a decade ago

I was about to say this! He literally hasn't performed anywhere for ten years

I got excited then thinking he’d come out of retirement!

I know a lot of people will disagree with me, but I don't think Billy Connelly is at all funny.

Romesh and Katherine Ryan are the two most overexposed comedians.

We're supposed to like Rosie Jones - but I don't 'cos I'm not PC.

Lennie Henry was brilliant when I saw him live (long time ago) much better than his watered-down TV acts.

Katherine Ryan isn’t funny at all. I like Michael McIntyre but pp is right he doesn’t ever do panel shows.

Comedy is very personal - I have never found Lee Evans funny and I can't bear Milton Jones, but H likes both of them.

There isn't a stand-out comedian that I particularly like at the moment. I liked Kevin Bridges and Sarah Millican previously - observational comedy works for me, whereas H likes the wordplay and absurdism.

Totally agree

Frankie Boyle was hilarious in mock the week but removed from any censorship his humor downgraded to constant foul swearing and toilet humor really unfunny.
