With thanks to @DebbieTheCat for the inspiration, how about a list of the words you really can't be doing with?

Top of my list would be "problematic" - the whole beige, head-tilted, be kind-ness of it just annoys me!

@Portabella M and S is normally referred to as Markies in NE Scotland

We also have Lidls and Tescos 😃

Dearg · 21/12/2024 21:06

Came on to say agree with all, especially ‘picky’ , except Markies. Even the staff here call it Markies.
Proud Aberdonian here 😄

peachystormy · 21/12/2024 21:43

The word horrid

peachystormy · 21/12/2024 21:46

Thought of another. people who say pacific when they are trying to say the word specific 😫😫 makes me want to cry

DimeStoreCowgirl · 21/12/2024 21:51

Agree with many of these. My own list includes:

portion
meal
browse 🤢
buttery when people mean soft. (The texture they’re usually describing is quite velvety; butter is greasy. I don’t want greasy tights, thank you.)

MrsSethGecko · 21/12/2024 21:54

Yummy. Or even worse, nom.

I don't mind moist and I like cunt.

Edited to add Portion.

pestowithwalnuts · 21/12/2024 21:56

.my daughter's hate ..Flan and Moist

Mookie81 · 21/12/2024 22:10

I HATE seeing the word 'pack up' on here instead of packed lunch, it really grates on me 😂.
Also noone seems to be able to spell 'lose' any more, all I ever see is 'loose'!

I'm going to add 'noone' to the list.

No one is 2 separate words.

lemmein · 21/12/2024 22:12

Gusset 🤮

TheTecknician · 21/12/2024 22:15

Moist + gusset would have sent my aforementioned work chum over the edge!

freshfrule · 21/12/2024 22:26

LUSH - 'that cake was lush' 🤢

twohotwaterbottles · 21/12/2024 22:32

If someone calls me "dear" I literally want to murder them. I hate it as an old fashioned term for expensive too. Just uurrgghhhhh!

twohotwaterbottles · 21/12/2024 23:06

Jewelanemone · 12/12/2024 04:44

Cheeky, when used to describe drink or food.

Go on, have a cheeky prosecco!

😡

Man alive I'm with you on this. "Cheeky Nando's" makes me want to fire bomb all the Nando's just so no one says it again
