@PandoraSox it’s believed that she has been living in a field, she was still in our town, in the last few days someone noticed her in their road and recognised her from a picture they had seen. We have never stopped looking for her, so there have been lots of posts on Facebook, posters and leaflets. The lady who went out to scan her is local and knew of an aggressive unneutered Tom cat in our area that had been bullying and chasing other cats, so her theory was that she had been frightened and run too far to find her way home.

pointythings · 31/12/2024 17:56

@PandoraSox of course I will!
@SerendipityJane I'm nothing like classy enough to be eclectic. I like some seriously cheesy stuff. I can go comfortably from Sibelius to Bring Me The Horizon via Keane.

Happy new year everyone.

Thanks for the great info, chats and laughs in 2024.

Let's hope 2025 is just as joyful on these threads but less eventful outside of them!!!!

BIWI · 31/12/2024 19:16

Happy new year everyone Flowers

I think an extra cat tax might be needed, this is her in her basket holding my hand. She is thin and grubby and very hungry, but so glad to be home.

Oh that is a lovely start to 2025 🥰

Happy New Year all! Some friends hijacked me and made me drink way too much during lunchtim/the afternoon. Not sure what will happen from here

I had too much curry, I am now relaxing with a glass of winter warmer ale and told DH to keep the oliebollen away from me Grin

Happy new year to you lovely people.
Thank you for your posts.
We don't really celebrate new year and will probably be in bed before midnight 🙈
I hope you all have a wonderful evening and a fabulous next year.
I can't wait for the 2025 mayorals in my area. It is getting heated already.

Zonder · 01/01/2025 01:01

Happy New Year to you all on the best thread on MN. Thanks for all the news, updates and common sense throughout 2024.

Happy new year everyone. Don't really celebrate - so was in bed earlyish after watching "When Harry met Sally" (again) as a New Year treat.

Thanks to all you lovely people for keeping me sane with your political insights.

Love the fact that the Tories and the RW media are losing it over Sadiq Khan getting a knighthood. I think the whole honours system should be abolished but the hypocrisy of saying that Starmer is rewarding failure is amazing. I have two words to say to them. Chris Grayling. *

*I think he has been a competent mayor.

Extra cat tax..

PandoraSox · 01/01/2025 12:29

Happy 2025!

Does anyone have any political predictions?

Mine are:

Badenoch won't last the year.

We will see tiny shoots of improvement, but Starmer will still be the anti-Christ.

There will be a by-election in Runcorn and Helsby which Labour will win with a reduced majority. Reform will come second. Farage and his followers will declare it a great victory and that he is Prime Minister-in-waiting.

There will be some scandals.

Happy New Year all! I was asleep by 11 after unwisely day drinking but on t(e upside I am not hungover today. I shall be doing some yoga shortly when my bacon croissant has digested a bit but dont plan to do much else. Start the year as you mean to go on, I say.

Wow, no hangover. I’m seriously impressed. It’s the most miserable, grey, damp day you can imagine here. Fire, tea, MN, book for me.

Sounds perfect. I shall do yoga shortly, then have a shower and use all the lovely new face stuff DD got me as part of Christmas (the rest is a voucher for the two of us to go for afternoon tea at some date to be arranged) and my day will look very similar, though my fire is a fake one. What are you reading? I’m on Sebastian Faulkes’ The Seventh Son for book club and The Missing Sister fr9m the Seventh Sisters series in bed. I prefer only one book at a time but sometimes book club causes a necessity if I time it wrong!

BestIsWest · 01/01/2025 13:18

Grey old day here too. Just been to visit my DM and the roads were terrible, potholes and gravel all over the place, trees down, must have rained heavily in the night. Extra work for the pothole task force I keep hearing that Starmer is putting into place.
Staying in and reading seems a perfect idea.

Mr Brexit has told the Telegraph he wants an "if you can afford it, you pay" French insurance model to replace the NHS
