It's amazing isn't it how something as simple as slipping on the stairs can cause so much damage Shock
I'm sorry you fainted derxa. I hope you're feeling better today.
Sounds like there will be a lot of pressure on you in the coming weeks so although DH doesn't farm with you have you got the help you need for the farm or for him?

Thanks. Ds and our shepherdess will do the needful

Llttledrummergirl · 25/12/2024 08:40

Merry Christmas all. Wishing everyone a calm and peaceful day with the opportunity to do something that makes you happy.

PickAChew · 25/12/2024 08:43

Wishing you all a peaceful Christmas. Flowers for @derxa and @cardibach and others having a tough time.

ThatbloodyRoblox · 25/12/2024 09:19

Been quiet on here for a while but still keeping up.
Hope you all have a great Christmas. Thank you all who contribute and keep these threads going. It is my sane place.
Dexra and others having a difficult time just now- I hope things get better soon.

BIWI · 25/12/2024 09:31

Ow, ow, ow! @derxa - slipping on the stairs is so easy to do, who knew it could be so disastrous? And I hope your fainting wasn't a sign of some other medical malady.

Hope he's patched up, filled with good drugs and you're both home soon.

BIWI · 25/12/2024 09:32

Festive feline greetings xxx

I’m at home but have got some sort of bug. DSs will visit today and hopefully get him out. All the best to you and yours

cakeorwine · 25/12/2024 09:54

Happy Christmas to all. Hope your DH recovers soon @derxa

PandoraSox · 25/12/2024 09:57

@derxa, hope you feel better soon and your DH is not in too much pain. Try not to get too stressed, easier said than done I know!

ilovesooty · 25/12/2024 10:08

Oh derxa sorry to hear you have a bug too. What a torrid time you're having right now Flowers

Notonthestairs · 25/12/2024 11:02

There are lots of nasty bugs circulating at the moment. Hope you feel better soon @derxa

For the first Christmas in a long time I'm not cooking today and I don't know what to do with myself Grin Might crack open a book (or more realistically just watch Wallace & Gromit repeats and try not to eat all the chocolate).

Piggywaspushed · 25/12/2024 11:21

Oh yes, stair slipping is how my late FIL did his.

We had those exact same santa sacks 😅

Well that was a…different…Christmas. My friend’s mother died at just after midnight Christmas Eve. She came anyway. Halfway through cooking the turkey my oven blew. Lovely friends in my town allowed us to cook the rest 8n their oven (despite being veggie) and we had a lovely time. Major stress resolved by friendship. Proper Christmas spirit. Pic if table before we started.

That sounds like one to remember @cardibach amazing that you could be there for your friend.

PandoraSox · 25/12/2024 23:04

Blimey @cardibach, that was a challenging Christmas. Hope you and your friend are holding up OK. Your room looks lovely.

cardibach · 25/12/2024 23:06

We’ve been friends for 40 years, so we can cope with most things…
Thanks @PandoraSox it was a fixer upper an I’m proud of it!

BIossomtoes · 25/12/2024 23:12

How lovely that your friend was able to come to you and be surrounded by love @cardibach. It’s a Christmas neither of you will ever forget. I have a friendship of 40+ years duration too and we’ve got one another through all the tough times as well as celebrating the good. There’s nothing to compare. Sending your friend love, it’s brutal losing your mum.

pointythings · 25/12/2024 23:16

These are the Christmases we remember, @cardibach - the ones where our friends come through for us and where we overcome all kinds of trouble.

itsgettingweird · 26/12/2024 09:04

Cardibach how lovely you were able to be there for your friend under such horrific circumstances. That's a true friend.

Ps - love your lounge!

prettybird · 26/12/2024 10:41

Beautiful lounge @cardibach - and here's to the value of friendship Xmas Smile

My two Christmas contributions: the artistic shot taken at night and then the morning shot with one of the cats about to supervise the opening of the presents, once ds and his girlfriend arrived over.

My dad was also born on Christmas Day @SerendipityJane - but he died (unexpectedly) in August last year at a young 86. We raised a toast to him yesterday Xmas Smile
