I’ve heard good things so far. What do you guys reckon to it?

Yes i saw it with DD. It was good. I didn’t love it, but DD did.

GroovyChick87 · 27/11/2024 12:10

I've heard mixed reviews. Some saying it was good and others saying it was terrible. I've got no interest in seeing it but my kids might.

Webbb · 27/11/2024 12:10

Yes, and it blew my mind! I thought it was outstanding.

The cinema was full and everyone clapped after, never had that happen before!

The man next to me was crying 😆and the GASP when the secret cameo was revealed around the room was amazing (including my own).

aveenobambino · 27/11/2024 12:13

Yes, I absolutely loved it! Big fan of musicals but didn't enjoy wicked on stage when I saw it about ten years ago but I'll definitely be booking tickets now to go again next year. I thought the film was fabulous and beautifully done.

NonPlayerCharacter · 27/11/2024 12:13

I enjoyed it. It was about half an hour too long and it's irritating that they're milking it so much, but other than that it's exactly what a film adaptation of the stage show should be and the cast is great. They've gone all out but that's the only way to do something like this.

popandchoc · 27/11/2024 12:31

Amazing, absolutely loved it.

RunSlowTalkFast · 27/11/2024 12:39

Faaaaar too long, lots of storylines and characters that didn't go anywhere. Had no idea it was a two parter! Might've been better to wait until next year, watch this one a home then go straight to see the second half!

I didn't realise so much of it was tedious mean girl school stuff... but with adults?

Defying Gravity is a tune though!

Vax · 27/11/2024 12:40

I've heard it has 'the hallmarks of a classic' 😇

Ruminatingly · 27/11/2024 12:40

We left halfway through, it was far too long and I agree storylines that didn't go anywhere. I saw a review after that called it self indulgent. It really was

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Went last night, wasn't impressed.

A few left during the movie.

Londonnight · 27/11/2024 12:51

I saw it yesterday. it was okay, not brilliant. To me it seem the plot is just leading the next film, so never really had a proper ending. It is long too.
I was disappointed with it.

Justleaveitblankthen · 27/11/2024 14:19

Saw a clip on Graham Norton and it sealed my conviction I would absolutely hate it.

Funnily enough, I think that about every clip I ever see on his show too.
Save loads of money 😁

unicornsarereal72 · 27/11/2024 14:28

@Vax you just made me chuckle. GrinGrin

This made me properly laugh, how can you know the storylines 'didn't go anywhere' if you literally left half way through

😂

TheOnceAndFutureQueen · 27/11/2024 21:09

I was worried it would be disappointing after looking forward to it for so long but it was spectacular! Within the first minute I knew it was going to be brilliant. I was surprised how faithful it was to the stage show, considering the length of the film. The main actors were all perfectly cast for their characters and it was visually (and musically) fantastic!

mrsanflowerpot · 27/11/2024 21:10

I went expecting not to enjoy it and I loved it. I also didn't believe I'd buy into the actresses as the characters and absolutely did.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 27/11/2024 21:53

Loved it. Don't generally get in with long movies, didin't watch the clock at all. H even enjoyed it, kids loved it.

User1786 · 27/11/2024 22:20

Totally amazing. I did not have high expectations when I heard Ariana Grande was in it but fair play to her, she was amazing! I clearly love her voice but just hate her usual music. Great comic timing too. Cynthia Erivo was excellent too. Took my 11 yo and she loved it too and she is normally restless during movies. Best movie I’ve seen in ages but I do adore musicals

tonyhawks23 · 27/11/2024 22:22

trailer looks amazing, but didnt reaslise it was a two parter?? Is that right? Dont want to watch it and have to wait a year ?

Needmorelego · 27/11/2024 22:26

I enjoyed it. Very visual. Fantastic sets. Catchy songs.
Very long - slowed a bit in the middle.
Needed more Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey) just because he's dreamy 😍

Changehaircolour · 27/11/2024 22:32

AMAZING!!!

boysmuminherts · 27/11/2024 22:40

Absolutely fantastic.. I was screaming and clapping at the well kept secret surprise.
Ariana and Cynthia were both brilliant. Such a well done adaptation.

Bakedpotatoes · 27/11/2024 22:41

Incredible! It really was amazing - it was long though which wasn't a problem for me but my kids started to get a bit twitchy towards the end but then defying gravity blew them away!
