Cheryl's son Bear

Cheryl being photographed at Liam Payne's funeral today got me thinking about how her son Bear has never been photographed.

I suspect this is because Cheryl hasn't given consent to photos being published but don't the media usually blur out faces of celebrity children if their parents haven't provided publishing consent?

Just wondered how Cheryl has managed to go all these years avoiding the paps and members of the public taking photos and for them to be published albeit with pixelated faces.

I've seen footage of him on social media but can't remember specifics

I think good for her for managing to keep his privacy intact, even moreso now he's going through the hardest thing any child will ever have to go through.

She doesn’t call the paparazzi to tell them where she will be ergo they don’t photograph her. She’s not Princess Diana, she was in a girl band 20 years ago.

I think things have changed in the last few years after phone hacking. The press used to hack phones etc to find out where famous people were going. They can’t do that now. That’s why they tabloids are full of reality stars

It just goes to show that they can keep their family life private if they want to.

Always surprises me with any funeral of someone significantly in the public eye that there's always some random who turns up just to get their face in the paper looking at you, Damien Hurley .

I know what you mean, but in all fairness he turned up with Liam's girlfriend, he was there to support her as a friend.

Fair play to Cheryl for managing to keep Bear out of the media, though it would be a shame if he couldn't attend his own Dad's funeral due to media attention. I hope he's doing ok the poor pet. Hopefully the media will continue to respect his privacy.

In the only video I saw from the funeral, Damien Hurley appeared to be positioning himself for maximum exposure to the media.....

I hope he managed to go to the funeral, if that was what he wanted, and that Cheryl didn't feel she had to keep him away for privacy.

It highlights how you can keep your children out of the press if you wish.

Damian was there to support Liam's girlfriend.

Because she wants him to have a normal upbringing and doesn't ring Backgrid to tell them where she is.

Hopefully she has a ruthless legal tram protecting him from the press.

I'm pretty sure she has injunction against the press due to previous harassment ... think Hugh grant has similar.
They cannot be photographed when going about their private lives. Imagine she has done the same for her child.

I imagine if anyone had taken a photo of him at his dad's funeral NO ONE would publish it as there would be outrage

If ever there was a lesson in the reasons why you want your child to stay out of the public eye because the celebrity world uses and spits out children, and the repercussions of it, Liam is a good example. Yes he had his addictions but he was 16 (a child) when he started on his path to being a global superstar and entered a world very few can imagine or compare to. It’s very difficult to adjust when that all comes to an abrupt end.

When in his care, Louis has kept his son largely out of the media as well. I think most of the footage has come from his son’s mother or Louis’s sisters. There was a carefully controlled scene in his film with his son but it was probably more to shut up the speculation and questions about him than anything else.

He used to attend my child's school. His name wasn't allowed anywhere (think coat pegs etc). I feel so sad for them.

I think the media really wanted the pictures of One Direction. It’s the first time they have reunited in a decade and the last time all five of them will be together.

Cheryl really isn’t comparable and whilst there will definitely be an interest in Bear, because he is Liam’s son, I agree that the media intentionally stayed away. Given Cheryl seemed to get into the church without being photographed, perhaps the trade off was for Harry, Louis, Zayn and Niall to be pictured instead - because I’m sure they could have also gone in through the side door or been blocked from cameras if they chose to.

I think it's great. Let the children decide if they want to be in the public eye when they are old enough to make an informed decision.

This is the case for many children - adopted, in protection or when staying in a DV refuge.
Nothing pertaining to my child is on display - name, photos etc.
Lots of us live like this to protect our children for whatever reason 😔

Yes, there are several children at our school who are not in any pictures etc. I hope you and your children ate doing ok.

I know someone in the public eye. The sort of person who can't go anywhere without hotel receptionists, airport staff, waiters, shop assistants, taxi drivers, random members of the general public etc calling the press with a tip-off to earn themselves a quick hundred or two.

Her mum told me that when they went on holiday, they weren't able to take them on the beach or to anywhere public, but had to stay behind closed gates in their holiday villa all the time, because otherwise the kids' photos would be all over the gutter press the next day.

Fame isn't what it's cracked up to be, she said.

Because she doesn't pay paps to follow her and take her pictures anymore. She's not really working in the public eye right now. It's good they haven't publicised the kid.
