How tall is his mum? He must get the height from her. My cousins husband is 6 foot 4 and has back issues attributed to his height.

DS19 is 6’5” and slim so looks even taller.
He does say he often looks for people who are the same height or taller and rarely sees anyone although during a few university visits last year we saw a few lads who were waaaaay taller.
DS17 is 6’2”. I’m 5’10” (not massively tall for a woman but taller than average). DH 5’11” so not tall.

The only problems we have are buying joggers/trousers long enough.

I’ve always told them you never hear anyone say “I wish I was smaller.”

A friend who is 6’1, her DH 6’7” and their son 6’6”. They say no one really mentions it to them.

Barron Trump is 6’9” I think and he’s only 18….

His height isn't funny, or even remotely interesting. His height relative to the rest of his family in that particular photo is mildly amusing.

It's how the photo has been taken which makes it look funny I think.

It must be a weird photo angle as there looks way more than a 6” difference between them, but they seem to be stood side by side 🤷‍♀️. Maybe the path is sloping or the photo is on a tilt.

It's got to be an optical illusion tho I'm 5'7 and my DH is 6'2 but he doesn't tower over me in photos.

Off topic but gosh his son looks the spitting image of a younger Gary in Take That haydays, doesn't he!

I have two DS - their dad (my ex) is 5ft 7, one son is also 5ft 7, the other is 6ft 2. It happens.

My son in law is this height and suffered a lot growing up. Great for you if you laugh about it but not everybody is the same.

FGS he is only six foot two. Most of DS's friends are at least that height. Kids tend to be tall these days. For those acting like he is some kind of freak, I think you really need to get out more.

Surely this is the case for Gary’s son; it’s seen as a good thing for men to be tall.
Added to that the fact that he is training to be a doctor so he must be intelligent and he has rich GB as a dad.
It looks like he has won life’s lottery; not sure he will be upset by a bit of ribbing.

My son is 5, 5 and judging by some of the comments on here he isn't the 'excellent thing' that he would be had he been taller.

It's rude to comment on something someone can't change in 5 minutes. Someone has food in their teeth or their skirt in their underwear then tell them, someone is taller than average or shorter just leave it - THEY KNOW!!!!

I don’t think it’s in good taste.

FWIW I’m a 6’3 dad who’s always been conscious of my height, my son is also tall and may end up taller than me; there’s a certain point (regardless of how impressive people perceive a guys height to be) that you just wish to be a little shorter, as you stand out as being too tall.

Some perspective for those that think this is harmless fun.

PP have already answered this. Its seen as funny because of the contrast. No one laughs at men for being 6' 2" I promise you. It would be like mocking a woman for being 36" 24" 36". Just wouldn't happen. If anything the height joke is directed at GB for not being very tall. (Which no no is not OK!! So please, not another short man defence thread.)
