I couldn't find a thread on today's budget. Anyone watching live?

Yes!!!...waiting in anticipation!

FastBeater · 30/10/2024 12:21

I'm going to as well.

the80sweregreat · 30/10/2024 12:24

I can't face all the heckling she'll receive to be honest ( or the negative stance on it from a lot of our press / media)
History in the making though

ByMerryKoala · 30/10/2024 12:28

I don't think there's anything more galling than watching the house brayng and laughing right before a budget we know is going to hammer lots of people.

LadyofRutshire · 30/10/2024 12:32

I am so nervous about this. I don't have a good feeling at all. Hopefully things won't be as bad as Labour has made out it will be.

Here we go!

Yes, PM Questions regardless of who is in always does my head with how much time is wasted with all the booing and lame jokes.

Phase2 · 30/10/2024 12:35

Hi just looking for a thread. I'm dreading it. Decent income, high outgoings, disabled adult child

GoldCat255 · 30/10/2024 12:36

Yep. Here I am.
Let the circus begin.

How2024 · 30/10/2024 12:37

I am here too.

popandchoc · 30/10/2024 12:37

InMySpareTime · 30/10/2024 12:38

"Watching" on the BBC news app via Picture in Picture so I can MN at the same time.

LadyofRutshire · 30/10/2024 12:39

Historic moment, first female chancellor 👏 reminded me of Kamala Harris speech when she became VP.

Yes, planned my lunchbreak in time for the budget especially.

FriendOrNo · 30/10/2024 12:40

Sadly turned on TV and I agree I can't watch it due to the childishness and 'ooh look labour are going fix everything'...by taxing the shit out of everyone and making middle income people poor and unemployable by companies that will offshore everything now

EvangelicalAboutButteredToast · 30/10/2024 12:40

I’m currently hiding all the family money in the mattress.

PilatesPeach · 30/10/2024 12:40

yes although I have to leave for work 1.15pm so hopefully most will be revealed by then!

Load of baloney so far, just laying the groundwork so she can be excused for fleecing us.

SallyForf · 30/10/2024 12:42

Watching here too.

SWbungalowlady · 30/10/2024 12:43

Me! I’m so worried. I’ve noticed a downturn in new business at work and the job market has halted. It reminds me of 2011ish!

LadyofRutshire · 30/10/2024 12:43

That's what I was thinking @Houseplanter Rishi on his phone keeps swiping right

Criminals not punished?! Somewhat ironic with their early release
Wish she'd get on with it instead of all this blame and posturing

BellyPork · 30/10/2024 12:43

Come on get on with it now

KoalaCalledKevin · 30/10/2024 12:44

I wish they'd just announce this just as a list of bullet points. The faffing around (at every budget, not just this one) is tedious.
