Equivalent to a Teddy for a 36 year old?

I have had a fairly tough year and really benefit from a weighted blanket on top of my duvet when I go to bed. I’m single, and wondered if there’s anything else on the market that could help me feel safe, snuggly and cocooned when I go to bed? Last night I ended up looking up teddys but thought perhaps there’s something else I could go for. Thanks ❤️‍🩹

Get yourself a really lovely teddy. I'd go and check all sorts of outlets and when one clicks with you, buy it and give it a name. I talk to my teddies all the time.

Get a lovely teddy 🧸 or if there is a relative someone close to you who'd like to buy you a Christmas present, get them to choose one

I’d get a Squishmallow! Or an adorable small dog you let sleep on the bed.

Or a big dog 🤣 nothing like a big 5 stone mammal snoring away to keep you company.

This is a beautiful thread. I’ve just ordered a sloth warmie for DD, who is having a hard time at the moment.

Hope you find the perfect cuddle friend, OP.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with getting a teddy! I have a ton of soft toys and I find them very comforting.

I've seen these stitch teddies that kind of breathe. Meant to be good for people with anxiety!

I bought one and it’s horrible.

the ‘heart’ is extremely noisy because of the battery making it pump, no one can relax with that sound next to you.

A cat! 😆
Or one of those u shaped pillows

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 28/10/2024 09:58

Pregnancy pillow or just get a huge teddy. I'd go for a huge Jellycat. My DD has a fairly sizeable one but she's only a toddler so it's quite big compared to her.

I don't have a teddy but when I need some comfort I cuddle one of my children. So if I didn't have children and wanted a teddy for comfort I'd get one that's about the same size as a toddler, haha.

A wooden slightly curved ice lolly stick.
Just a visual representation of the saying: Touch wood it will all be better
If you hold the stick, you are for ever touching wood, so it will all get better...
Also lying on a tiny smooth stick doesn't disturb your sleep once you let go ..

Get a teddy bear ♥️ as someone else said, it doesn’t matter how old you are. In fact, I’d buy a very big teddy bear! 🥰

Your post put tears in my eyes because I do have a small teddy bear that I’ve had since I was a baby, that I still have now. I’m suffering from
trauma and it brings me a lot of comfort. Sending hugs, you sound like you’re in a very difficult position xx

I am a lot older than 36! Still love my teddy. Had a few over the years. If you want one get one .No need to be embarrassed!

Princessfluffy · 28/10/2024 15:40

I have a jellycat toy and a body pillow. Love them both, very comforting and good for sleep.

This was a lovely message, thank you. Sorry to hear about your trauma too, wishing you lots of comfort.
