Equivalent to a Teddy for a 36 year old?

I have had a fairly tough year and really benefit from a weighted blanket on top of my duvet when I go to bed. I’m single, and wondered if there’s anything else on the market that could help me feel safe, snuggly and cocooned when I go to bed? Last night I ended up looking up teddys but thought perhaps there’s something else I could go for. Thanks ❤️‍🩹

Second vote for the fuzz-a-mallow version of a squishmallow. I have the big beaver one and am cuddling it under a blanket right now feeling very sorry for myself as I’m loaded with cold.

I have a big octopus plushie. There's always an arm/leg to hold!

StarCourt · 27/10/2024 17:17

you can get teddies that breathe and are supposed to be great for anxiety and sleep

NobodyGivesADamn · 27/10/2024 17:31

I have a teddy
It comes with me on every holiday-
It then has photos taken and he has a profile on facebook with over 2,200 friends
His been to some wonderful places

A teddy can be for adults too!

(Off to change my username 🤣)

Oh LOOK! 2,200 people can’t be wrong. I love that, thank you for sharing it.

I have just seen that today is International Teddy Bear Day! A very pleasant coincidence 🧸

I use my bbhugme pregnancy pillow in the same way - doesn’t look like a pregnancy pillow so not that weird IMO. Expensive but mine is good as new 7 years later.

A hot water bottle to cuddle is always nice but I do still have a teddy bear in my bed too as I just like cuddling it.

Hot water bottle is best by the feet.

Funkyslippers · 27/10/2024 18:42

A cat! Mine loves being under the covers for cuddles 🤣. She can be a bit wriggly though

Jifmicroliquid · 27/10/2024 18:45

Get a teddy! I sleep with my bear factory bear (now build a bear), my winter mouse teddy and a jelly cat black cat. I usually cuddle the mouse. He has a lovely red jumper. I’m 40!

Someone on the Ikea thread a couple weeks ago said they loved this big life sized bear. Even the most recent review is from a woman who bought this bear for herself when she emotionally needed to feel hugged and it helped her immensely. Sometimes you just need that. Treat yourself!

Nearly adult DD has a djungelskog and he is so soft and squishy. Sometimes I cuddle up to him while I'm in her room talking to her. He's huge and very comforting.

My electric blanket is very therapeutic. As are my cats.

Livinginaclock · 27/10/2024 18:49

I have three cats 🐈, I highly recommend them.

girlofsandwich · 27/10/2024 18:55

Heated throw, hot water bottle, fleece sheet/duvet, one of those lights that casts a moon or stars on the ceiling. Bigger teddy!

Disclaimer, I also opted for a cat.

smooththecat · 27/10/2024 18:57

Cat

I vote for a warmie as then it doubles as a hot water bottle.
I have one and it’s lovely and soft.

lochmaree · 27/10/2024 19:01

A Warmie!

theculture · 27/10/2024 19:04

Also suggesting a warmie

Those warmies look good, but how big are they?

Probably depends which one and how you measure but mine's about 25cm tall.

HellofromJohnCraven · 27/10/2024 19:52

Marks do some lovely Spencer Bear hot water bottles at the moment
