This makes me so angry. Why the hell did anyone think he wanted to help them in this country? He is a piece of shit

x.com/a_toots/status/1853701000634216457?t=mVg4QmCpJMaWODITxFJppg&s=19

He is an abysmal excuse for a human being.

Nearly time for a new thread!

I don't quite understand this. What do you mean he is one of 5pc of state educated students accepted this year? Do you mean to a particular university? I'd be interested to know which uni if so.

I'm still thinking about this @newnamethanks - you know bursaries come from the university, not the government? Still wondering about the context for this.

Has Badenoch decided who will have to face Angela Rayner as shadow deputy?

Not yet, it’s one I’m looking forward to.

Chris Philp 😂

Cooper is going to eat him for breakfast.

Farage says if Harris wins she should pardon Trump to dampen down the risk of violence.

Aside from the idea that laws and the justice system are clearly meaningless to Farage, it's very 'Look what you made me do'

It also shows what a snake he is, considering he has been telling anyone who is forced to will listen that Trump will win.

If you want some runes read, then Trump has lost. I can't see Farage daring to say something like that if there was even an outside chance that Trump would win. I don't know where Farage gets his intel from, but it must be pretty solid.

I'm intrigued, too, where this university is - 5% state-educated admissions sounds pretty narrow when Oxford and Cambridge take around 70% from state schools these days (68% and 72% respectively in 2022).

In fairness, there aren’t many people in any party Cooper couldn’t have for breakfast and still need a substantial snack at 11…
Philp won’t even be an amuse bouche

I presume that they means 5% of the bursaries awarded, not 5% of places?

That would make more sense - thank you! 😅

It would be funny if it wasn't so ridiculously incompetent.

BIossomtoes · 05/11/2024 12:29

Maybe it’s not incompetence but satire? Maybe Badenoch has a sense of humour after all.

I think that is an excellent title. but you should add

An interesting choice of photo of Kemi in today's Guardian

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/live/2024/nov/04/keir-starmer-labour-migration-interpol-kemi-badenoch-conservative-shadow-cabinet-uk-politics-latest-news

Online doesn't show the whole picture - she's leaving Tory HQ, wearing red trousers, a red/orange jacket with a woman behind her sporting an orange scarf. Kemi has a blue shirt on, but her jacket is fastened, so you only see a bit of that shirt.

She must, surely, be aware of the optics of what she wears? So how come she and her colleague appear to be supporting Labour and the LibDems?! Grin

PickAChew · 05/11/2024 13:47

Well Angela Rayner wore that (ill fitting) green suit. Apart from the odd tie and handkerchief, it's not like the blokes colour coordinate themselves.

Maybe. Would be interesting to hear from the person who wrote it, what the actual context was.

Could be in honour of the US election, nailing their colours to the mast 😬

The OBR has accused Treasury officials of breaking the law by hiding £9.5 billion of unfunded commitments before the March Budget.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-11-05/uk-budget-watchdog-says-treasury-officials-may-have-broken-law

Was this why the big Hunt was so vexed about the report ?
