Would you leave a negative review on vinted for slow collection?

A buyer bought something and I posted next day.
She chose parcel shop collection and after a week at collection point I messaged (politely saying her parcel was ready to collect )
She said she would collect that day -she didn't
She collected day 10
Then didn't confirm delivery
So I had to wait another 2 days
So all in all I had no money or item for 14 days.

I understand people have things in their life to do etc but this was £50 item and 10 days to collect is a bit ridiculous
Especially when I posted the next day

Would you leave neg feedback ?

No because you have no idea what her circumstances are. She was still within the time frame and that’s a risk you take on Vinted

betterangels · 19/10/2024 19:51

No. She was within the pickup window.

Precipice · 19/10/2024 19:51

Absolutely not.

If the service gives the buyer 10 days to collect, any time within those 10 days is an acceptable time to collect. How quickly the seller posted is irrelevant.

loopylooot · 19/10/2024 19:51

10 days is a long time not to be able to pop to a newsagent to collect a parcel.

No

gestroopd · 19/10/2024 19:52

No. She picked up within the time and confirmed within the time. She's not obliged to pick it up quickly because you sent it quickly. Although that's always nice.

loopylooot · 19/10/2024 19:53

She didn't confirm
She let it auto complete
So couldn't even be bothered to click received even tho she was online

Buyers have no obligation to confirm. The money is released in 2 days, which isn't a long time. If you're this impatient, selling online may not be for you.

Baby3or · 19/10/2024 19:55

YABU

Lincoln24 · 19/10/2024 19:55

Definitely not, she had a window within which to pick up and she did that.

Your beef (not that I think you have one really) is with Vinted; they allow that length of time for pick up and won't pay out until pick up is confirmed.

Ok. So you think she's just sitting at home, deliberately not picking it up, or walking past it at hourly intervals and not going in? You know maybe she was. But maybe she's got a chronic illness. Maybe a family member is ill and she's been caring for them after work. Maybe she works shifts and it's been really tricky to get to the newsagents between shift times and kids' schedule. Or 100 other reasons.

You're being silly.

She had 10 days to collect. She collected within that time.

What's your negative review going to be "She collected within the time frame"

Fedupandstressed · 19/10/2024 19:57

Probably me Grin

I have to walk homes from the bus stop and go out of my way to collect and it was pissing down last week.

So I left it until the last day, purely because it wasn't raining.

easylikeasundaymorn · 19/10/2024 19:59

perhaps she was on holiday or ill or her car broke down or a family member died and picking up a parcel wasn't a priority.

I live in a city and the nearest yodel collection isn't actually particularly near to me, about 2.5miles away, I'm not going to walk five miles to pick something up when I can wait a day or two and drive instead. Equally I'm not going to drive there just to pick up a parcel if I'm going to be doing the shopping or getting my haircut in the same place or on the way within the next week, I'll wait to pick it up and combine the two. People have busy lives.

If you were struck down with flu or something and couldn't post an item until day 4/5 would you be annoyed if someone gave you negative feedback for it? If so don't do it to someone else.

loopylooot · 19/10/2024 19:59

@Precipice I don't think two weeks is impatient
I think it's more to do with rude people

OP posts:
loopylooot · 19/10/2024 20:00

I think if people struggle to collect parcels because it's raining they should get it delivered to their house
Then it can go to safe place /neighbour etc.

OP posts:
WhiskersPete · 19/10/2024 20:00

Of course not. How does how long they took to pick it up impact you at all? It doesn't. You're being ridiculous.

cannaethink · 19/10/2024 20:02

I’ve noticed more people not confirming recently which is a bit annoying. I just let it do auto feedback if they do that. I think lots of auto feedback gives a bad impression.

How is she rude? She had ten days, she picked it up in that time, you have your money. Job done.

loopylooot · 19/10/2024 20:02

@WhiskersPete well I'm without a £50 item and also £50
Clearly I'm selling on vinted to make extra money and waiting 2 weeks with either isn't great

Mummyboy1 · 19/10/2024 20:03

It's a bit annoying but they did nothing wrong. You chose to send the next day, you didn't have to.

PippyPip · 19/10/2024 20:05

I agree it’s annoying but I don’t think it’s worthy of a bad review! I’d prob just give 4 stars and not say anything 🥲

purplebeansprouts · 19/10/2024 20:07

If you don't like the terms and conditions of vinted don't use vinted

standardduck · 19/10/2024 20:08

YABU. She collected the item within the pick up window. Perhaps try selling on a different platform if Vinted doesn't suit you?

Pepperama · 19/10/2024 20:09

I understand it’s not ideal for the seller but I have to use parcel shop as it gives you a bit longer. I am not in an area where it’s just ‘pop in’ - I tend to wait till several parcels have arrived and then collect them together. Some sellers are slow to send.

Getting it sent home isn’t an option, as Evri forever says they rang the bell or they delivered when they didn’t or got the wrong address - apart from that it’s more expensive.

I do try to confirm quickly though once I’ve got the item

Is there a way for you to exclude the parcel shop option if the wait is a problem?

HundredMilesAnHour · 19/10/2024 20:10

loopylooot · 19/10/2024 20:00

I think if people struggle to collect parcels because it's raining they should get it delivered to their house
Then it can go to safe place /neighbour etc.

It's usually more expensive to get it delivered to your house. And not everyone has a safe place or neighbour they can trust.

Have you not get any empathy or imagination at all? You seem to have no understanding that people have different lives and situations to manage.
