Would you leave a negative review on vinted for slow collection?

A buyer bought something and I posted next day.
She chose parcel shop collection and after a week at collection point I messaged (politely saying her parcel was ready to collect )
She said she would collect that day -she didn't
She collected day 10
Then didn't confirm delivery
So I had to wait another 2 days
So all in all I had no money or item for 14 days.

I understand people have things in their life to do etc but this was £50 item and 10 days to collect is a bit ridiculous
Especially when I posted the next day

Would you leave neg feedback ?

10 days is a long time not to be able to pop to a newsagent to collect a parcel.

No it isn't. I have a life. It simply isn't a priority to pick up a Christmas jumper because you rushed to post it of your own accord.

Mandoidi · 19/10/2024 20:43

You might need alternative ways of making money if you are relying on vinted income by specific times. In your latest post you sound like you were desperate for it coming in. If so, vinted might not be quick/reliable enough.

Growlybear83 · 19/10/2024 20:44

I think it would be unreasonable to mark your feedback down for slow collection. Apart from that, she will probably then leave you negative feedback for chasing her to collect.

Any reason she couldn't click a button for 2 days after so I actually got paid?

When she was active on the app?
So she couldn't collect because of a b c
There is zero reason she couldn't click she received it.

Because she might not have picked it up, a friend could have. Case in point, a recent purchase arrived late, when it did arrive to the pick up point I was staying in hospital with my daughter who was having surgery and my cousin picked it up. I didn’t click ‘received okay’ because I hadn’t seen it to check it. Which I was well within my rights to do.

Honestly just get off vinted it’s not for you.

hollyblueivy · 19/10/2024 20:46

If you use in2post they have to collect within 3 days.

Wickedwitchofthewest2 · 19/10/2024 20:32

No she collected within the time frame. I often collect parcels nearer the 10 days because my pick up point isn't in my village, but within the time frame. It's cheaper to send to a pick up point so if it can wait it will wait until I drive past and collect it.

The expectation that I need to send parcels right away is also annoying for the same reason. I've had to remind impatient buyers that I am not offering an Amazon prime service which I think is even ruder.

I deliberately set my ebay delivery to dispatch within 5 working days and the amount of push back I get on this is so frustrating!! I get comments about how it took ages to dispatch when it's been 4 days!

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 19/10/2024 20:48

It's irritating but I think it would be unreasonable to give negative feedback. You could mention it in the feedback though and then block her from buying from you again.

I've just had someone who said that if I didn't post a parcel within 24hrs they would cancel it as they needed it for holiday. I left work early to make sure it was done and she got it days before the date she needed it by. She didn't even bother to confirm receipt or leave feedback. Some people are just rude entitled arseholes.

There’s no real reason and unfortunately, she doesn’t need a reason. She may have not clicked on the button because she genuinely couldn’t be asked or didn’t give two fucks about when you got your money. Again, these are the T&Cs of Vinted and she hasn’t broken any rules.

You can leave a bad review but she’ll probably leave a bad review back to you. You decide if it’s worth it

You probably irritated her for chasing her to collect her parcel.

Yes, I do agree with this. You may want to look at Facebook Marketplace as you meet people in person and they can give you cash/bank transfer straight away. There’s no waiting around for anything

purplebeansprouts · 19/10/2024 20:53

Miguelo · 19/10/2024 20:24

No. You have no idea what’s going on in her life. Maybe she has bigger things to worry about than a second hand parcel collection.

Exactly. Anything could have happened between her ordering and her collecting. If she'd been hospitalised or bed bound. Loads of people have chronic health conditions that can flare up at a moments notice.

Yeah I'd be surprised if she doesnt give you negative feedback

Difficultworkdecision · 19/10/2024 20:54

I’ve collected a parcel in day 10 before, my baby got admitted to hospital the day it arrived and then stopped breathing, needed multiple attempts at resuscitation and spent a week in ICU. The parcel was the last thing on my mind, I asked a family member to collect it the day I got the final reminder. If I’d got negative feedback for that I think it could have been the straw that broke the camels back for my sanity.

The point is, you have no idea why she didn’t collect it, but she followed the ‘rules’. It’s a non issue.

loopylooot · 19/10/2024 20:54

"Hi just to let you know your parcel arrived at the collection point a week ago,not sure if you received notification from vinted "
Yeah really chasing her Confused

OP why are you scrapping on here? Everyone has told you don’t do it but you’re determine to do it so just do it? Wither nothing will happen or you will get shitty feedback too. It’s not life changing. Just do what you want.

PrimalLass · 19/10/2024 20:56

No. If she's allowed to take that long then so be it.

Yeah just do what you're going to do and wait for the karma

RosieDAntonio · 19/10/2024 20:58

You'd hate me OP, I choose collection as it's cheaper and gives you longer to collect. Totally within the Vinted rules.

GritGoes4th · 19/10/2024 21:01

You need to adjust your expectations. You should not expect to be paid until the pick-up window of time closes, and then an additional 2 days for all to clear.

If everything goes through faster - great. But you can't get frustrated when everything worked exactly as it should: you sold an item, the buyer collected it in time, you were paid.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 19/10/2024 21:02

I work away half the week, then had some kind of Dreadful Lurgy that knocked me off my feet for 5 days.

On the days I'm here the paper shop closes before I get home. Add in a few late afternoon. teen-taxi runs, it's sometimes tricky to get to the InPost shop in time. It's 3 miles away. (Yodel is across the road).

ComingBackHome · 19/10/2024 21:03

Did the buyer even know that you aren’t getting paid until she has clicked ‘collected’?

Because as a buyer, I’d assume you’d get the money straight away….

Cremacreme · 19/10/2024 21:08

maybe she didn’t realise she has to do this? Maybe she forgot?

Why did you post on here😂 not one person has said ‘yes, leave her negative feedback’ yet you’re determined to go back and forth with us. Like another poster said, just do what you want

Cremacreme · 19/10/2024 21:10

Clearly I'm selling on vinted to make extra money and waiting 2 weeks with either isn't great

I sell stuff on Vinted & EBay but I don’t see it as much needed income. Try a car boot?
