Would you leave a negative review on vinted for slow collection?

A buyer bought something and I posted next day.
She chose parcel shop collection and after a week at collection point I messaged (politely saying her parcel was ready to collect )
She said she would collect that day -she didn't
She collected day 10
Then didn't confirm delivery
So I had to wait another 2 days
So all in all I had no money or item for 14 days.

I understand people have things in their life to do etc but this was £50 item and 10 days to collect is a bit ridiculous
Especially when I posted the next day

Would you leave neg feedback ?

You openly sell on vinted knowing that they have this amount of time and those are the term you agree too.

As annoying as it is, she didn't do anything wrong.

Maybe she didn't mark as received because you annoyed her chasing her up.

Try selling elsewhere if these terms are not for you.

peepsypops · 19/10/2024 21:12

loopylooot · 19/10/2024 19:53

She didn't confirm
She let it auto complete
So couldn't even be bothered to click received even tho she was online

I would say get a grip. When I buy from Vinted I will collect when it suits me - I don't work for them or the seller. Such a bizarre outlook.

Or she collected it then died

I get the feeling OP still wouldn't forgive her....

Clearly I'm selling on vinted to make extra money and waiting 2 weeks with either isn't great

I sell stuff on Vinted & EBay but I don’t see it as much needed income. Try a car boot?

Yeah ditto. Sometimes items sell the day they are listed sometimes 10 months later. I’m not bothered and I’m not bothered if the sale takes the max time in the vinted timeline. I’m not rich either. If I needed money urgently for something it would go on marketplace. Selling things second hand on apps is always going to take time.

Also your argument you weren’t chasing her, you absolutely were. The app has told her it’s ready for collection and how long she has, she just hasn’t picked it up yet because she doesn’t have to. A seller once tried to ‘nudge’ me like that and it really pissed me off because of a family emergency I wasn’t able to pick it up to the second to last day, and I didn’t need some pushy moron who didn’t understand vinted buyers timeline being passive aggressive.

Honestly OP if I saw a seller’s review complaining the buyer didn’t pick it up early or click the everything is okay button, I’d think the seller leaving the review was a moron for not understanding the Vinted t&c’s.

So bizarre. There was a crazy post like this from a similar op but it was a buyer complaining the seller didn’t send the parcel til the last day. Ffs some people don’t have basic comprehension of t&c’s.

Miguelo · 19/10/2024 21:33

loopylooot · 19/10/2024 20:25

@Miguelo £50 is a lot of money to some people ...it's not a £2.50 item

Doesn’t change the fact that there could be more serious stuff going on for them.

Pistachiochiochio · 19/10/2024 21:33

Could have been me: I was right up to the wire picking something up because DP collapsed, was taken to hospital in an ambulance and diagnosed with a brain tumour. I was on my own with our 6 month old baby and no family locally.

Vinted probably showed me as active because I had the app open to find the code.

No, you were not the next most important thing for me to do on my phone before texting my mum/DP/ ordering groceries and making sure i could keep paying the mortgage once my SMP finished.

PP who say if you don't like Vinted Ts and Cs don't sell on Vinted are spot on.

No. I had a seller nagging me to collect after only two days. Really annoying. Our collection shop is a drive away on a dual carriageway (not walkable at all) and I only have access to a car a few times a week.

If it annoys you that they collect within the the window, you can change your settings to only offer home delivery.

Edited

I had a seller message me reminding me to collect on the second day! I’d only chosen collection because for some reason home delivery hadn’t been an option on the item, and then I became ill so I couldn’t collect straight away.

When I receive an item I mark it as ‘all ok’ and leave a review straight away, but only around 10% of sellers bother to leave me a review.

To answer the op: no, I wouldn’t leave a negative review. They’ve collected within the timeframe.

loopylooot · 19/10/2024 21:42

@easylikeasundaymorn she must been posting from the afterlife then as she was uploading bits on her vinted
Too busy tho to click as recieved tho 🤪

I usually confirm the order within a few hours. However, there are times when I haven’t confirmed the order which has resulted in the seller waiting two days for the money - when I have found the seller an irritant; when the item has been dirty/misdescribed but I have chosen to keep it (but not confirm everything is ok because it isn’t).

I’m quite bored of this thread now so I’m going to unwatch it. If you want to leave negative feedback because you are feeling bitter/angry/frustrated that you had to wait a few extra days for some cash then go ahead. I don’t think anyone genuinely cares to be honest.

Shoemadlady · 19/10/2024 22:34

If you're not prepared to wait for money within the guidelines of Vinted then you shouldn't sell through Vinted.
You have no idea what was going on in her life. She could have lost a parent, been in hospital, had a poorly child. You have no clue at all.

pinkpetunias · 19/10/2024 22:40

If you need the money that desperately you should look at another selling platform like Facebook marketplace or gumtree. The buyer has done nothing wrong.

HiCandles · 19/10/2024 22:41

Until I read a similar thread like this a few months ago, I had no idea that sellers didn't get the money when I paid it. I sell a lot through a private FB group and money is sent by PayPal. I would never send an item without receiving money first so I assumed it was the same.
I also didn't realise that leaving feedback was necessary to declare to the seller that all was ok. I am very used to deleting without reading all those annoying emails wanting reviews for every single little thing I order, every restaurant booking I make, every company seems to want reviews now. I thought Vinted was the same and if I have no issues, I'm quite happy to ignore their emails.
YABU entirely OP. She collected within the timeframe and Vinted's automatic feedback process was followed. Not sure you've got a leg to stand on tbh. Perhaps try selling through different avenues like FB local or mum's groups.

FussyPud · 19/10/2024 23:59

I don’t always collect quickly. I use the parcel shop option so I can get my item when it suits me.

If that doesn’t work for you as a seller, maybe don’t offer that as an option for your buyers?

Polyp0 · 20/10/2024 01:52

I never bother to click to say I've received an item on Vinted. Didn't realise people would care.

Puffinlamb23 · 20/10/2024 05:01

loopylooot · 19/10/2024 19:53

If I ever do this it's because I'm not happy with the item, but it's not worth the hassle of returning or the risk of retaliatory negative feedback if I leave an honest review of the seller. Often things described as 'very good' arrive stained or bobbled etc.

She's done nothing wrong and you'd be out of order to leave her a negative review.

Puffinlamb23 · 20/10/2024 05:08

loopylooot · 19/10/2024 20:39

Any reason she couldn't click a button for 2 days after so I actually got paid?

When she was active on the app?
So she couldn't collect because of a b c
There is zero reason she couldn't click she received it.

I think you need to get off Vinted, you clearly don't like the terms and conditions. You can sell elsewhere or suck it up and quit whining.

Journeyintomelody · 20/10/2024 05:42

No, that would be a terrible thing to do in my books. She collected within the window. You have to expect a delay before recieving payment, it's how vinted works.

Dovecare · 20/10/2024 05:50

I am often slow to collect parcels if they are not sent to my home. The collection points are not very near. I cannot find a place on vinted to state my preference. Anyone know how to do this?

wishIwasonholiday10 · 20/10/2024 06:25

No, she collected it within the allowed time. You don’t know her personal circumstances - could be lots of reasons why she couldn’t make it sooner. She may not have deliberately chose that option. For me the collection point is always the default and I have forgot change it a few times or clicked through to buy too quickly. My nearest collection point is actually quite far and annoying to get to.

LouiseTopaz · 20/10/2024 06:37

My vinted now auto confirms everything's okay with the parcel after two days. I no longer see the option after this time frame. It also only gives me two days to collect a parcel before it gets sent back.

MumChp · 20/10/2024 06:39

YABU

StamppotAndGravy · 20/10/2024 07:49

Yes, knock a star off. I hate seller who wait until the last day to post, so the courtesy should also be extended the other way. She'll probably leave you a revenge review though

Naybody · 20/10/2024 08:21

Why does selling stuff turn some people so arsey? I got a proper nasty message from someone on FB when I pulled out of a sale because I don't pay sellers fees and she hadn't advertised that in the advert.

I think it's rude to remind people the item is ready for collection tbh. It makes me want to wait until the last day if buyers pester me to collect.
