Would you leave a negative review on vinted for slow collection?

A buyer bought something and I posted next day.
She chose parcel shop collection and after a week at collection point I messaged (politely saying her parcel was ready to collect )
She said she would collect that day -she didn't
She collected day 10
Then didn't confirm delivery
So I had to wait another 2 days
So all in all I had no money or item for 14 days.

I understand people have things in their life to do etc but this was £50 item and 10 days to collect is a bit ridiculous
Especially when I posted the next day

Would you leave neg feedback ?

I think it's because she said she was going that day to collect then didn't bother for another 3 days.
She could of easily just said
I've turned parcel shop off now
I've had 2 parcels in the last 4 months not collected -they got refunded and the parcels still haven't got back to me
So tbh my empathy for people has ran out

Someone recently left me poor feedback for slow pick up. The area was flooded for 2 days. I even sent the seller a message to explain and sent her links to the local news. I collected as soon as I actually could.

You’ve got no idea what the buyer has going on in her life. She collected within the window.

I use InPost because Evri have a reputation of leaving parcels anywhere - which would mean an undelivered and incomplete order.

Try and be less bitter OP. Live and let live. ☺️

That’s incredibly sad. Your empathy for people collecting your second hand clothes has run out?

craftynancy · 19/10/2024 20:20

You sound very impatient OP.

I normally try and collect things straight away, but there have been times when I took the full 10 days.

Once because I work full time, was travelling for work and was just so busy that simply couldn't get to the shop until the last day.

Another because the package had been delivered to the wrong parcel shop. The one it was delivered to is on a busy road, an utter nightmare to get to and there is never any parking on the roads nearby. I tried several times to go collect with no luck.

You have no idea what their situation is. Chill out and wait the extra few days.

Her mum might have died that day or something #bekind

loopylooot · 19/10/2024 20:21

@craftynancy I don't think 2 weeks is me being impatient.

I've collected parcels on the last day before. I've also sent them at the last minute as well, I try to let the buyer know. Life is busy and not everyone lives that close for the parcel shop or whatever. I had no idea people took Vinted that seriously.

I spoke to a friend of mine the other day who was a seller. He had a buyer who brought an item and the next day he set off to send it at the post office. On the way he pulled over because he felt a bit ‘iffy’. Rang his wife who phoned an ambulance and it turned out he’d had a heart attack. He ended up being in ICU and his wife didn’t manage to get the parcel sent out till the very end

moral of the story is you have no idea what is going on in peoples lives….

Miguelo · 19/10/2024 20:24

No. You have no idea what’s going on in her life. Maybe she has bigger things to worry about than a second hand parcel collection.

PlantHeadNo5 · 19/10/2024 20:24

You can, but then she might leave you negative feedback in return.

A parcel I ordered never arrived. I repeatedly asked the sender for the details on could try and track it. She refused saying they didn’t give her any and then she got rude - it was obvious she never sent the thing. I got a refund and left negative feedback about it. She then left me feedback saying I did get the parcel and was a thief and a liar. I asked Vinted to remove it and gave them evidence but they said they could only remove it if my review was cancelled too so I accepted the deal. Waste of time.

So go ahead but is the negative review that you may receive worth it?

loopylooot · 19/10/2024 20:25

@Miguelo £50 is a lot of money to some people ...it's not a £2.50 item

loopylooot · 19/10/2024 20:00

I think if people struggle to collect parcels because it's raining they should get it delivered to their house
Then it can go to safe place /neighbour etc.

Things happen

life changes.

PlantHeadNo5 · 19/10/2024 20:29

£2.50 is a lot of money for some people. But the amount is regardless. She acted within Vinted’s time frames. Maybe something happened and the parcel just isn’t her priority - you would have thought under normal circumstances a £50 parcel would have been, but clearly she has been preoccupied with god knows what.

Honestly OP, listen to the majority here.

Wickedwitchofthewest2 · 19/10/2024 20:32

No she collected within the time frame. I often collect parcels nearer the 10 days because my pick up point isn't in my village, but within the time frame. It's cheaper to send to a pick up point so if it can wait it will wait until I drive past and collect it.

The expectation that I need to send parcels right away is also annoying for the same reason. I've had to remind impatient buyers that I am not offering an Amazon prime service which I think is even ruder.

ItsTheGAGGGGGGGGG · 19/10/2024 20:32

£50 is a lot of money and I would be annoyed that it’s taken someone so long to collect it. I’d also be annoyed that when they finally picked it up, they couldn’t even click on the button to confirm everything was okay. All that does is delay getting the money to you.

But she hasn’t actually done anything wrong. Vinted are the ones who set the time frame on how long customers can take to pick up an item. You don’t know why it took her so long and you got your money eventually. It’s annoying but she’s followed the rules. It’d be unfair to give her a poor review because of this and would just look badly on your part

ThomasPatrickKeatingsDegas · 19/10/2024 20:33

Doesn’t matter how much it’s worth OP, your issue isn’t with the buyer but with vinted. People aren’t rude for abiding within the timelines and terms set out by vinted. Next time you get a Vinted “How are you enjoying the app” state your issues.

But ffs don’t penalise buyers who aren’t doing anything wrong.

If you are that hard up sell on another site or cash converters. Vinted is a slow app for ordinary people with busy lives. It’s not Etsy.

I don’t get delivered to my house because evri et el chuck parcels on my lawn and I don’t always pick up immediately because I have a toddler, a disability and a job with a long commute.

I think you need to either change apps or put in your listings your impatient and put your terms 😂😂😂

Thischangeseverything · 19/10/2024 20:33

No. I had a seller nagging me to collect after only two days. Really annoying. Our collection shop is a drive away on a dual carriageway (not walkable at all) and I only have access to a car a few times a week.

If it annoys you that they collect within the the window, you can change your settings to only offer home delivery.

Cremacreme · 19/10/2024 20:36

Some people have lives though…

Neveranynamesleft · 19/10/2024 20:36

You have no idea of their circumstances. What do you hope to achieve by leaving them a negative review when they havn't done anything wrong ?

lemonlavendar · 19/10/2024 20:37

loopylooot · 19/10/2024 20:02

@WhiskersPete well I'm without a £50 item and also £50
Clearly I'm selling on vinted to make extra money and waiting 2 weeks with either isn't great

Not everyone on Vinted is selling to make money.
Your buyer was completely within her rights. Many reasons why she waited so long to collect...do I really need to spell them out?
Maybe Vinted isn't for you and your narrow mind, hey!

Nandolorris86 · 19/10/2024 20:37

Go back to eBay OP

Wonderballs · 19/10/2024 20:39

The secondhand clothing item wouldn’t have been earning you interest if you’d held on to it for longer. It had lost its value to you and that’s why you decided to sell it. Being without that item for more days than anticipated is no hardship. What you have in return is the potential income.

loopylooot · 19/10/2024 20:39

Any reason she couldn't click a button for 2 days after so I actually got paid?

When she was active on the app?
So she couldn't collect because of a b c
There is zero reason she couldn't click she received it.

OP posts:
AtmosAtmos · 19/10/2024 20:41

It doesn’t really matter if she had no reason and was just being lazy. If she sticks to the Vinted terms she hasn’t done anything wrong. Equally if I as a buyer must have something the next day Vinted is not what I should use.

If you need the money quicker use a different platform.

Serene135 · 19/10/2024 20:42

@loopylooot You seem quite annoyed and frustrated about the fact that you had to wait a little longer than anticipated for the money. Yes it is a little annoying when someone doesn’t collect for a while and yes it is annoying when the order is not confirmed and you have to wait another two days for the money. However, you don’t know what the buyer is going through - they could have had a bereavement, be travelling with work, be struggling to cope with responsibilities etc. I must admit I don’t always collect parcels straight away and it’s because I’m not willing to travel miles out of my way to collect a parcel when I know I’ll be going that way at a later date and can do it then. I have also been in situations where I have gone to collect a parcel that is showing as delivered and it is not there so I have had to return at a later date. It’s really not a big deal in the big scheme of things is it.
