Would you leave a negative review on vinted for slow collection?

A buyer bought something and I posted next day.
She chose parcel shop collection and after a week at collection point I messaged (politely saying her parcel was ready to collect )
She said she would collect that day -she didn't
She collected day 10
Then didn't confirm delivery
So I had to wait another 2 days
So all in all I had no money or item for 14 days.

I understand people have things in their life to do etc but this was £50 item and 10 days to collect is a bit ridiculous
Especially when I posted the next day

Would you leave neg feedback ?

Why are people on Vinted turning so weird? I've had negative feedback for "not much communication" when they didn't ask me anything, and "not enough photos" when they had the choice to either ask for more photos or not buy.

Destiny123 · 20/10/2024 08:28

What? I deliver to store as I work 10-13h days and have a 3h a day commute and don't want it dumped on the doorstep in the rain all day to be ruined. When I do a run of 13h days I sleep at work as can't be doing a 5.50am train getting home at 22.45 and functioning as a Dr. I time my purchases so they come ideally before I stay at work but if they're late sending then they may have to sit there for 5d

Although I understand what you mean, I recently got a rather narky message from a seller the minute I got the notification that the parcel had arrived at the locker. She was insisting I collected that day. I wfh so to be fair can normally nip out but I didn't really appreciate her tone. So I waited another few days before collecting.

I had this too! She was like, “I can see it’s arrived, why haven’t you collected” - it was 6:30am, followed by “I know you’ve collected, why haven’t you accepted it” whilst I was still in the shop! And that was after multiple updates of when, where and how she was posting the item. People like that can wait the two days 😂

@WhiskersPete well I'm without a £50 item and also £50
Clearly I'm selling on vinted to make extra money and waiting 2 weeks with either isn't great

But then don’t sell via a site which has a window for collection and payment.

I know nothing about vinted but it seems this buyer didn’t breach any rules, so I can’t see the issue.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 20/10/2024 09:35

No! She is within terms.

Maybe she is buying on Vinted because she doesn't have a lot of money and was waiting to be paid.

Beezknees · 20/10/2024 09:41

Of course not and I'm a regular vinted seller. Give your head a wobble.

10 days is a long time not to be able to pop to a newsagent to collect a parcel.

Yabu. She may have been unwell, on holiday etc. You would be massively out of order to do this

Veeg34 · 20/10/2024 10:02

Get a grip OP it’s just Vinted it’s not that deep

I had a star knocked off by a seller the other day for my lack of communication, and I am still unsure what communication was needed.

I have responded underneath her feedback, and she then changed what she said slightly.

The fact she took till the last minute to send - it was on the verge of vinted cancelling the transaction. I did not chase her or anything, I was just letting the process take its course.

I paid immediately on receipt but have left the transaction to go to automatic 5-star feedback as I am not petty and hate retaliatory feedback as the item, even though delayed, was okay.

cannaethink · 19/10/2024 20:02

I’ve noticed more people not confirming recently which is a bit annoying. I just let it do auto feedback if they do that. I think lots of auto feedback gives a bad impression.

Buyers do not get automatic feedback - they only get feedback if the seller leaves them some.

Only sellers get automatic feedback if the buyer does not leave their own.

There seems to be a big increase of sellers not leaving their buyer feedback, I buy a lot, and I would have probably double the feedback I presently have if the sellers had given me the courtesy to leave feedback for me when I have left some for them.

I have filled in the feedback form on the vinted app many times to request automatic feedback for buyers, but as yet nothing.

WetBandits · 20/10/2024 11:15

No, she was within the time frame.

I can’t imagine being petty enough to want to leave negative feedback at all, let alone post on MN asking for other people to validate my pettiness.

Squigface · 20/10/2024 11:25

Yep YABU. If you don’t like Vinted’s T&Cs, don’t use Vinted, it’s pretty simple! How would you like it if someone gave you a bad review cos “she posted it too quickly, in my opinion” or “she followed the packaging guidelines but I happened not to like the colour of the Jiffy bag she used” or “she described it perfectly but I was kidding myself it would fit me. One star to that seller!”?!? You’re being ridiculous.

I know. Imagine what the OP is like in real life, guessing an absolute PITA that everyone rolls their eyes at when her back is turned. I’d say a jobsworth, but she’s unreasonable (unhinged) enough to be annoyed at people following the app’s guidelines 😅

Maybe she is buying on Vinted because she doesn't have a lot of money and was waiting to be paid.

Vinted makes the buyer pay straight away plus costs ( they choose from the delivery options the seller has offered) the seller has to wait for vinted to release their money once the seller has marked as ok essentially. It doesn't work the same as eBay and Paypal

Polyp0 · 20/10/2024 01:52

I never bother to click to say I've received an item on Vinted. Didn't realise people would care.

The funds are released to the seller as soon as you click on ‘Everything is okay.’ If you don’t click on it, it does take 2 days for the purchase to auto complete and for the seller to get the money. Defo try and click on the button as soon as you can
