Just heard on the news abroad he fell from the third floor off a hotel in Buenos Aires, if true it's very sad as he was so young and seemed like a lovely guy

I'm reporting the posts about marilyn monroe as no one should have to read about that

It was relevant as the poster was saying about how celebrities are treated even when they die. There’s graphic descriptions about what happened to him so why not mention another celebrity?
This is all really weird, it’s like mass hysteria and everyone getting offended over anything.

TaylorSwish · 17/10/2024 12:38

Mrsdoyler · 17/10/2024 12:32

I feel ill after this thread.

How does anyone think it's OK to talk about necrophilia.

I'm going to vomit.

I don’t know how some people cope with daily life?
As I just said the poster said it to show how badly Celebs are treated in life AND DEATH.

Mrsdoyler · 17/10/2024 12:38

Rosesanddaffs · 17/10/2024 12:36

That’s what I’m getting from the articles, I wonder if it was suicide, no one just falls off a balcony.

Lots of people do actually fall from a balcony.

If you look up news articles online, loads of people fall off balconies when they're on holiday
Because when you're on holiday, people drink more and for longer.

Some balcony walls that I've seen are waist height.

In the reports the receptionist says that he was off his head on drugs and had to be carried up to the room, and that he was worried because there was a balcony

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 17/10/2024 12:39

Why do I feel so sad about this.

Don't think it was intentional just a tragic accident.

It's not relevant as you can see that mumsnet have now deleted one of your posts.

and it's weird. Why bring up necrophilia at all. It has nothing at all to do with Liam Payne's death.

Ridiculous isn't it. I think it's some people's first day on the Internet.

KTheGrey · 17/10/2024 12:46

DaisyLadies · 17/10/2024 12:00

I think so too, disgustingly. There’s a man buried above her in her crypt who wanted to be buried face down so he could be on top of her, she then has Hugh Hefner (worlds biggest creep) in the crypt the other side of her. I really wish one of her next of kin’s would move her, even a distant one, but guess there aren’t the funds to.

Sheesh that’s grim.

I don’t think she really had any nok- I believe her mother outlived her but wouldn’t necessarily have had capacity for such decisions.

That poster said that we shouldnt get hysterical over necrophilia. Which is the post that she posted.

Can you specify how people having sex with marilyn monroes dead body, is relevant to Liam Payne dying?

I think that some posters get sick kicks out of death.

That's why they bring up the most disgusting topics possible.

When intoxicated these things can happen.

Reminded of the English footballer a few years ago.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Whittingham

"On 18 March 2020, South Wales Police confirmed that Whittingham was in hospital after suffering head injuries as a result of an accidental fall at a pub in Barry on 7 March. He died from his injuries on 18 March at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, aged 35.

In March 2021, Pontypridd Coroner's Court recorded a verdict of accidental death, concluding that Whittingham was intoxicated and engaged in "horseplay" with friends before falling through a fire door and down a flight of stairs".

Edited

Mumsnet delete anything if you ask them.
There were pictures of his dead body which should never have been seen by anyone other than the police etc. It’s vile the press got them and put them on what I assume is a huge and popular website.
The poster said it’s like Marilyn as she was treated badly after her death too. (I didn’t write the original Marilyn post by the way, just to clarify I just agree with what that poster is saying).
Do you understand?

Mrsdoyler · 17/10/2024 11:35

I'm not saying that it hadn't "moved on" by a couple of posters.

I said it's not appropriate to move on to attacking Cheryl on this thread, which is about his death.

Hopefully we can "move on" from that topic now.

Ok. I know women on MN largely do this double standards thing, where a woman cannot and must not ever be responsible for quite questionable decisions while a man who does it is total fair game and the epitome of disgrace, but I personally don't ever do it. I both realise two truths simultaneously; women are disproportionately mistreated and held responsible for the actions of men due to ingrained societal wide misogyny AND women can individually be capable of absolute foolery and yes, even heinous things too.

Do I think it wise or right thinking for CC to have commenced a relationship with an already troubled (by accounts here) young man who she met when he was child? No. I would absolutely call out a man on that too. Do I think it helps a young man (or woman) to be in a relationship where there may be an imbalance of power due to a wide difference in age? Again no. And you can draw your own conclusions as to whether that would help anyone already experiencing issues.

And that doesn't stop me thinking she is suffering or caring about her son at all. Grey is a good colour. But if we can talk about the victim's wrongs I can't see how it's worse to talk about others. Notwithstanding them being female.

And please stop attempting to police the thread and shut people up.

Loads of people fall off balconies! I feel like I'm always reading about drunk British tourists in Spain, falling off balconies and dying. They're not committing suicide. They're drunk. Liam Payne was apparently off his head with drink and drugs. It's sad but I'm not surprised.

@Mrsdoyler is incredibly invested in this thread for some reason and also believes they are more important than Mumsnet MNHQ.

This always happens on these threads when celebrities die. It’ll be getting blamed on the media/public soon no doubt for bullying him to his death a la CF.

It inevitably becomes competitive virtue signalling over who is most upset/offended that someone they didn’t know from Adam has died.

Sometimes people just can’t cope with real life, take copious amounts of drink/drugs and then “have an accident”. No one is to blame.

Yes people fall off balconies a lot. Especially after drinking.

Have you seen those little balconies in the Spanish towns. They barely go up to waist height

PuddlesPityParty · 17/10/2024 12:58

PrimalLass · 17/10/2024 11:29

I think it’s pretty clear from his exes direct account - maybe look into it a bit mate. Restraining orders don’t come from TikTok.

I've looked into it, mate. I know rather a lot about 1D.

There wasn't a restraining order. Yet.

It used to be the case that you couldn't just make videos or publish books accusing people of things and it to be taken as gospel. How is that the best way to get justice? She's the daughter of a multi-millionaire lawyer. Who is advising her? This would have prejudiced any court case.

I don't doubt at all that there's some truth in it. I'm questioning the way that now someone is guilty until (or even when) proven innocent rather than the other way round just because it's been said on social media.

Whatever.

From what I’ve read he wanted to jump into the pool? Obviously that might not be right.

Twonewcats · 17/10/2024 13:01

I've just seen photos of the balcony. Im guessing 40ft was what the person meant. No way is it 40m.
Obv that isn't the most important aspect, but it's been discussed at length on here.

Don’t think I ever mentioned or thought necrophilia it in my 47 years of life until I agreed with a comment from another poster who made a relevant point. So not really invested at all.

Drink drugs and a balcony are a bad mix

I didn’t get from your posts that you’re a necrophiliac either🤣

Mrsdoyler is the one who keeps mentioning necrophilia - she must’ve mentioned it 10 times already! Goes to the trouble of having a post about necrophilia deleted and then carries on banging on about it!

Nobody is directly to blame. But I'd argue that the press pisstakes and SM ripping him to shreds would be very much part of the issues that contributed to this horrendous situation.

And yet you just mentioned it again.

I never thought I'd see the word necrophilia with a laughing emoji beside it.

Some extremely weird people on this thread now

BrieHugger · 17/10/2024 13:12

@mnhq please remove all the wittery bickery posts about necrophilia. It’s not relevant and is horribly disrespectful on a post about a dead young man. Please also delete this when you’re done tidying up. Reported.
