Just heard on the news abroad he fell from the third floor off a hotel in Buenos Aires, if true it's very sad as he was so young and seemed like a lovely guy

They've not just claimed to see it.. they've posted it!!

Looks like crack to me but I could be wrong - bad eyesight and blurry pic. His behaviour suggests he was on uppers so I doubt heroin.

I was watch videos on YouTube last night about him too. I'm not a fan but was watching videos pop up about him. That's so uncanny. The videos were slating him. Poor little boy of his

TMZ are vile but the US news media has a history of posting questionable photos of violence/death which just doesn't happen here in the UK. Thankfully. I would seriously question the dignity, well lack of because, of the person/people taking photos of him to sell on.

Re the news getting out. I hope his family found out first but it looks like local press maybe don't consider that? Once local news were reporting it was going to stay secret for all of five minutes meaning that the UK/US press (I got alerts from the NY Times, Telegraph and Indie) weren't going to sit on the story once it was all over social media and had been confirmed. I'm not keen on sticking up for our press but in this case I don't think it's their fault. If/when they're all outside the homes of his family, then I'll remember how vile they are.

Sadly yes. The poor lad was under the influence of drugs and / or alcohol and either had an accidental fall or jumped whilst in a poor mental state. Utterly tragic and avoidable. He had been poorly with his mental health and had substance dependency issues that were long standing. He had been tormented online recently I understand...I will never understand how cruel people can be to other people or what sick satisfaction they gain from bullying someone. Those who have bullied and tormented him need to take a good long look at themselves. He wasn't a perfect human being and he had undoubtedly done awful things but did the poor soul really have to die like this..,

to quote The Specials "Too much much too young" all that money he could have had his "normal" friends around him or is that part of the problem? He was what 16? when he became part of the biggest boy band since The Beatles so he didn't form "normal" friendships like from school or college or whatever

Ed Sheeran's Bloodstream is on my playlist, and it came on earlier and struck me as hauntingly appropriate (after seeing Liam's snaps and tiktoks from recent days in the press, he just looked so troubled. Bleary eyed and lost). God love him 😢

I have had to do this at the exact age with my Daughter and as a parent it was the hardest thing I had to do.

Agreed. Fame and a huge amount of money at a young age have led him down a pathway of mental suffering and the incredibly sad issues he had around substance abuse. He was little more than a child when he became famous and it's been incredibly harmful to him. He was undoubtedly exposed to alcohol and drugs at a young age and hasn't had the necessary safeguarding and checks and balances in place to keep him away from those harmful influences.

I'm devastated, I'm a massive Directioner, mainly Harry but I've always loved them all and have seen Niall, Harry and Louis this year, due to see Zayn next month.
I always hoped to see Liam solo and them back together at some point.
So many memories of the different tours, albums, videos etc from the last 24 years.

He was being dragged all over SM recently, between his ex's tell all, the zayn story, and the niall horan show he attended, nothing being said was positive. I said to my daughter a few days back I felt for him as it must be hard to go from loved to hated.

If it turns out it wasnt accidental, I wonder if there will be an outpouring of "be kind" for an imperfect young male as there was for an imperfect young female.

@Livinginaclock & all the other IDers it's a massive shock when someone you love, music, cinema or whatever you just always think they're immortal

My cousin is a massive fan, Harry & Niall are her favourites & I remember her room (I thought I was bad at her age!) & fake (than christ!) tattoos so for her generation (21/22 y/o) this must be like when Take That split & support lines were opened

Just read LP was onstage with the Mullingar legend Niall in Argentina recently, I hope that gives him a bit of relief & solace
