Just heard on the news abroad he fell from the third floor off a hotel in Buenos Aires, if true it's very sad as he was so young and seemed like a lovely guy

Because third floor is not 40 meters! And I don’t think it’s a good idea to let people go around saying nonsense. Even with ground floor, 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor… you’re not adding up to 40 meters. Floors aren’t 10 meters each. It’s nonsense and someone else without their own intelligence will read it and repeat it somewhere.

Maybe the ground floor reception area was 20/30 feet, not all buildings are the same

Hope Cheryl ok she will be one to tell the son

That has been upermost in my mind, she has to break this tragic news to her little boy. I hope the media leave them alone

xxSideshowAuntSallyxx · 16/10/2024 23:53

Honestly does it matter what his hotel room was like, what floor he fell from. The guy has sadly lost his life, a young boy is without a Dad, parents without a son, sisters without a brother, a woman without her partner. There's a woman that has to break the news to a 7 year old child that their Dad is dead.

The speculation and salivating over photos and gossip from Twitter is low.

BigDeepBreaths · 16/10/2024 23:53

BirthdayRainbow · 16/10/2024 23:20

Well if he's dead he's not really got away with it has he? If he has died by suicide and if it was because of the situation with his ex.

He was clearly troubled. Drugs/alcohol were likely driving the behaviour towards his ex which resulted in a cease and desist letter.

I think its probably oversimplifying things to cite that as the reason for this tragedy. He’s looked haunted and behaved erratically for years. He’s been exposed to a dark industry for yrs, has a son he isnt really raising. So much going on, a lot lot more to it than a couplemof instagram posts from an ex and i hope she isnt vilified.

This. Feel really sad for everyone close to him and particularly his son. Just awful, regardless of the circumstances.

Strangely all I've been hoping is she lets the kid sleep tonight.

It’s being reported in the press it was 40m.

City ambulance service provider spokesman Alberto Crescenti said Mr Payne had fallen around 40 metres and suffered 'severe injuries which were incompatible with life.'

TeaMistress · 16/10/2024 23:54

He had been reported as being very agitated earlier this evening and smashing a laptop in the hotel and had to be carried upstairs. It does sound like he was very much under the influence of alcohol / drugs and maybe fell accidentally. I don't want to think that this poor tortured soul felt his only way out was to throw himself out of a third floor balcony. A fall on to concrete from a third storey would have resulted in catastrophic head injuries that ultimately were not survivable. Horrible way to die.

Idontjetwashthefucker · 16/10/2024 23:50

But why does it matter what drugs they are?

She was saying she doesn’t understand what the hotel drug scene/what foils were for.

Then immediately others jumping on her for ‘faux naivety’

Im saying it’s not naive to not know what the drugs were, how they are used etc. You wont be able to tell from the photograph.

AliasGrace47 · 16/10/2024 23:55

According to Maya he exploited other fans. He himself was exploited by the music industry- we can feel empathy for this and his horrible accident without condoning his alleged abusive actions, they aren't exclusive.

I can't believe this media circus is still going on in 2024, we need strong press controls worldwide and penalties for breaking this sort of tragedy on social media.

And reports also said he fell from
the roof of the hotel. Then it changes to the third floor balcony. So no one knows.

Exploited in what way? I do wonder what happened to those boys :( ugh

Aquarius1234 · 16/10/2024 23:56

I read ages ago he hadn't seen his son for a couple of years.

Only just got the BBC News notification because they always make sure to verify the information.

BBC verify info. That’s laughable.

So what? I ask again, why does it matter what the drugs are? Does it change what has happened?

CitizenZ · 16/10/2024 23:58

You lot are an absolute joke...

Posters be like:

I've seen his body on TMZ
I saw the drug paraphernalia
I've looked at things that nobody should see

Someone new "OMG what did you see"

Posters:

How dare you ask that you ghoul, have some respect, he's a father, a son a whatever.

NameChangeUser183794639 · 16/10/2024 23:59

Can TMZ be sued by Liam Payne's family for massive infringement of privacy in publishing clearly graphic and upsetting photos of his body?

And who took the photos and passed them to the Press? Was it the first responders? Or hotel security? Can they be sued too? If so, I hope they all get sued into the ground.

It's an incredibly sad end for Liam. His poor little boy😢

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 16/10/2024 23:59

I just came on here because I saw the BBC notification. Horrific for Liam and all who care about him. His poor son.

I still remember his X Factor audition. RIP.

Third floor is high anyway.

But third floor in a large hotel will be extra high

I know right? People want to know the details because it's interesting, obviously. Doesn't mean they don't also think it's sad.

How very sad. 31 is no age.

Reminded me when DD left junior school in Y6 last summer they played “History” by 1D to see them out and everyone was bawling.

Twistybranch · 17/10/2024 00:02

In a statement, the local ambulance manager Alberto Crescenti said: "At 17.04 through the 911 integrated public safety system, we were alerted of a person who was in an internal courtyard of the management of a south house hotel.

"At 17.11 a SAME team arrived and verified the death of this man and later we found out that he was a singer in a musical group.

"Unfortunately, he had injuries that were incompatible with life, as a result of his fall, so we had to confirm his death, there was no possibility of resuscitation."
Crescenti also claimed that the singer had fallen around 40 metres and suffered “severe injuries which were incompatible with life”.

Can we get over the 40m argument now
