Best thing you have ever watched on YouTube.

If I’m having a “can’t find anything to watch” night I always default back to YouTube and 9/10 I find something obscure that I will then sit glued to for a couple of hours.

Old re-runs of crime watch, 1990 documentary’s, lifetime/true movies or American police interviews, I never know what going to pop up..

I wondered what’s the best diamond you have found on you tube that you have enjoyed, found interesting or been captivated by.

The channel 'Omeleto' showcases short films by little or unknown directors. I could spend all evening there.

Hope you find something.

Paisleydad · 03/10/2024 22:44

Oh. And this. 9 minutes. Gunfighter reacts to the voice over.

I’m not claiming it’s the best thing but I was very happy watching a 6 hour analysis of the film Midsommar on YouTube recently 🌷☀️🍄 🐻 🔥

Really?? One of the most tedious and disappointing films I've ever seen.

There's a four part Tower Of London tour, with a hilariously rude Yeoman Warder. This is part 1.

I've only watched short music videos on YouTube (usually 3 to 5 minutes long). Best ever is George Michael performing Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me and Elton John joins him on stage (to total surprise of audience) midway through.

Screamingabdabz · 03/10/2024 22:52

I love all the Brene Brown interviews. I particularly enjoyed one she did with Russell Brand… but they’re all inspiring. I could listen to her all day and I’m not a fan of ‘self help’ literature myself.

NunyaBeeswax · 03/10/2024 22:55

There's tons of episodes of Pointless on there..

And Classic episodes of Time Team and there's even New Time Team digs supported by patreons.

I can be a bit of a sucker for true crime documentaries too, tons of them if you search them up.

That documentary about the oil drill that accidentally drilled into a salt mine:

If you’re even remotely into running (or not).. Nick Bester’s video of London marathon with Anya culling. I would defy anyone to watch it and not be desperate to run it after that. She went from 4 and a half hours to just over 2 and a half! And Nick has just broken his target time of 2:20 at the weekend and posted an amazing video of it tonight (I cried). The best running channel for motivation

girlonfiree · 04/10/2024 00:06

UK wife swap!! They have a lot of the episodes. Absolute gems. Times were VERY different then and it was only 15 odd years ago, they would never get away with some of those episodes these days.
The YouTube channel is called "best of British" or something

Onand · 04/10/2024 00:41

I’ve started watching Soft white underbelly channel which has interviews with people who have hard lives/ addictions etc. very interesting

It's just a short clip but it's a woman walking through a field and she calls her donkey over. He comes running over all snorty and excited to see her. It's my favourite clip ever (other than the "maple kind" dog)

BertieBotts · 04/10/2024 00:44

Ghosts on the Underground. I have watched it three times. It's especially creepy if you watch it on your own in the middle of the night!

Also, Peter Santello's content is brilliant - he explores different areas of the US (mostly the South) and talks to people - it's so soothing and human. Very different feel to the Ghosts documentary!

Floralnomad · 04/10/2024 00:48

The Australian opera version of Pirates of Penzance with Anthony Warlow , the ultimate production .

Myto · 04/10/2024 01:03

Watched a couple of brilliant documentaries recently.
Watched this tonight, it’s brilliantly well made and an absolutely insane story of just essentially the cult like behaviour of those who bought into the bed bath and beyond stocks

Any chuppl video tbh, but the latest one was on Havana syndrome

my favourite one recently but I watched it over the course of a week as it’s over 5 hrs long, a deep dive review of all the media North Korea put out over the ages

don't know why the video for "Old Movie Stars Dance to Uptown Funk" keeps coming up as error - if you click the #3 underneath though it takes you to the vid

EarlofShrewsbury · 04/10/2024 01:44

I like watching young people watching classic films for the first time.

Reaction videos to things like back to the future, forest gump, Shaun of the dead, titanic, etc
