Best thing you have ever watched on YouTube.

If I’m having a “can’t find anything to watch” night I always default back to YouTube and 9/10 I find something obscure that I will then sit glued to for a couple of hours.

Old re-runs of crime watch, 1990 documentary’s, lifetime/true movies or American police interviews, I never know what going to pop up..

I wondered what’s the best diamond you have found on you tube that you have enjoyed, found interesting or been captivated by.

The armstrongs. It's a reality documentary soap thing about a couple who have a conservatory business and it is hilarious.

tuvamoodyson · 16/12/2024 16:19

Dr Grande…

I love YouTube! Always find something to watch. Currently watching 'Summer on the Estate' documentary series filmed in the 90's, about the Kingshold Estate in Hackney and lives of the tenants. Would love to know where some of them are now - what happened to them..

If you want a 70's weird vibe, it's Quinten Smirhes....watch Picture Box the Haunted Whistle, anyone who was off sick from school on the 80's will get it, though his version is, shall we say , interesting...lol

Mostly daft animal stuff. I really liked the cheeky crow that was following a cat. Every time the cat turned round, the crow was looking the other way (I could imagine him doing some innocent whistling).

Also the Sooshi Mango boys who dress up as either their mums or dads. The one where the 3 mums are watching their daughter/or in laws cooking . they watch them closely, one even gets on a chair to watch and everytime the daughters/in laws move from the stove, the mums put more salt in the food!!! The same mums insist their son puts a jacket on. One jacket is never enough and wherever he goes, the mum is there with a jacket!!

Deathraystare · 13/02/2025 14:07

I also like the couple where the girl has ADHD.. They explain how it affects them both. Very interesting and done with humour.

CalicoPusscat · 13/02/2025 14:34

@PardontheFrench if you like crime, 'crime story' with Dennis Farina is on uk youtube.

Owl kitty and sylvester the talking cat for fun

I’ve started watching Soft white underbelly channel which has interviews with people who have hard lives/ addictions etc. very interesting

Yes that is interesting.

Oh also the guy that goes round places in America that are poor and a lot of the people are on drugs or can't find work. It is nicely done and not exploitative.

There was one, it might not of been him and they went to one of those places in USA where there are a lot of gangs and drive by shootings. I was amazed that the single storey houses (like our bungalows in UK) were surrounded by grass and if you had picked them up and plonked them in Surry, UK would be worth a lot of money, but these places were considered 'poor'.

Simon's Cat

RapunzelsSplitEnds · 13/02/2025 15:49

Vasya in the Hay is fascinating. It shows people’s lives in rural Russia and how the team try their best to help people.

The Polish rug cleaner sends me to sleep. Just videos of rugs being washed, great for insomnia. Lubuskie Centrum I think.

Anything Japanese especially the artisans who create exquisite things, eg masks, fans, teapots, kimonos and shoes. The Japanese railway journeys are fantastic. I would love to visit but doubt that I’ll ever go.

It's just a short clip but it's a woman walking through a field and she calls her donkey over. He comes running over all snorty and excited to see her. It's my favourite clip ever (other than the "maple kind" dog)

I NEED to see the snorty happy donkey. What do I type into to watch him?

Chuchoter · 13/02/2025 18:06

Is it this one?

Is that Peter Santanello? I love his channel!

music video by a Scandi girl who meets loads of travellers in Ireland and they ride horses together. Amazing

Watched this three times. I love it. Thank you

Giggorata · 14/02/2025 15:21

Yes, I forgot about Mr Ballen.
I also enjoy Triggernometry and the Gresham College lectures.
And Grumpy Old Crone.

exiledfromcornwall · 14/02/2025 15:34

If you're feeling down do a search for baby goats, there's tons on there. Guaranteed to brighten your day.

Andnowshesatoddler · 14/02/2025 15:48

I don't have a zero gram of interest or creativity in this but watching videos like this really helps me switch off at night.

I've just been rewatching Dinnerladies which is, of course, absolutely brilliant.

Maggieb90 · 14/02/2025 19:24

Am definitely going to look at some of these recommendations! Might start with the Baby Goat 🐐 😃

NotAPartyPerson · 14/02/2025 19:28

These documentaries do sound good, but have you seen the video where the Australian man barks like a dog?!

TaggieO · 14/02/2025 19:37

If you like MrBallen, https://youtube.com/@abstract?si=dC1OaFvmankWlS3H is even better.

Big Batches by food insider is fascinating - how huge things like cruise ships and gurdwaras are catered.

Oh, and the best thing on the internet - Tom Holland on Lip sync battle
