Kemi Badenoch claims that Labour has more power in society than the Conservatives: “they have the unions, the BBC [applause], charities…all we have is each other.”

Labour are in and everyone can see that they're the bad guys and we're the good guys" says Kemi Badenoch

She maybe needs to lay off the drugs at this point.

First of all Gibb at the BBC and all the other Conservative appointments do not indicate that the BBC is left wing.

Secondly is she overlooking the Telegraph, Times, Mail, Express, GB News and the Murdoch empire? Marshall's UnHerd and Spectator?

Who did Hunt sit down with in January? The editor of the Mail and its owner Lord Rothermere.

And we are not allowed to know what they discussed-

I submitted a freedom of information request, asking for the minutes of this meeting.

The Treasury has refused to hand them over, saying it was a "political" meeting.

As we are savouring this, the added pleasure is knowing it was the Tory pursuit of Brexit that did this to them.

Say what you will about Labour and Starmer, but they and he have in the main managed to avoid the elephant traps that could be seen from space of Brexit and are in a position to pick up the popular vote as it inevitably accepts rejoining the EU is inevitable. Bearing in mind even if we started today it's unlikely to be complete by 2040.

In part maybe. Mainly because I imagine he’s a shit teacher. That’s what the word is…and his performances in the HoC tend to back it up.

He said when he left teaching he thought his pupils were glad to see him go. Perhaps if he reflects on the impression he's created in the last five years he'd understand why most schools wouldn't want him on their staff.

I don’t think standing up in parliament and calling teachers commies will have done him much good either.

Simon Case has announced his resignation as cabinet secretary in a note to civil servants, I’m told.

Edit to add

CONFIRMED: Simon Case is resigning at the end of the year

“As you all know from our discussions, my decision is solely to do with my health and nothing to do with anything else.”

Liz Truss claiming the Tories would have won if she’d still been PM is going to be the funniest moment of the day. You couldn’t even get re-elected in your own constituency you absolute tool. You are the marker we measure how unpopular PMs are.

BustingBaoBun · 30/09/2024 16:00

Glad to see the back of Simon case. He was just Johnson's stooge

SerendipityJane · 30/09/2024 16:03

Surely there is a reality TV show with Gullis' name on it about the travails of finding work in Starmers Britain ? One of his right wing media chums must be up for it. After all, we had "Meet the Moggs". And as a member of the Tory party it's not as if he has any dignity left to worry about.

newnamethanks · 30/09/2024 16:04

I'm sending a pair of Wellingtons to Tugenhadt, he may find them useful in the near future. They do all sound absolutely barking, close contest. I might have to stop reading about them, they're stretching the boundaries of reality to breaking point. Or even past it in the cases of Truss and Badenoch.

Evenstar · 30/09/2024 16:16

This summed the Tory leadership contest up for me

A tin of spam would last a hell of a lot longer.

Evenstar · 30/09/2024 16:25

@SerendipityJane I doubt whoever wins this time will be leader at the next election, it’s just the same people being served up again, there is no vision or anything fresh that will appeal to new groups of voters.

SerendipityJane · 30/09/2024 09:19

she strikes me as someone who has/does have a great amount of advantages in life & cannot understand why some may need support from the state she begrudges benefits & that many are just feckless & undeserving

thick is the word you are looking for (I was always good at precis)

😂😂😂

Love how you did that too

itsgettingweird · 30/09/2024 17:10

It's very much....

Person interviewed.

Persons words are printed as they were spoken.

Person then tries to imply that word written misrepresents what I said - although you've only written what I said.

I can see why politicians like disappearing what's apps Wink

Me either the obnoxious git
Truss I think has imploded, which I can sort of understand if you’ve been someone who has been convinced they are superior in intellect & have unwavering belief in their abilities being over promoted time & time again I suppose you could imagine you are the second coming & once it all comes crashing down with such a spectacular fall from grace you thrash around trying to find something to make sense of it & instead of some self reflection she goes full on bonkers extreme right wing, I’m another one who thinks she is mentally unwell.
im glad Simon Case has resigned another slippery specimen.

Kemi tells conf that Tories lost election because of infighting. She’s going to get a shock when she finds out who started many of the fights
