Oasis tickets

1000 replies

Helplessandheartbroke · 30/08/2024 23:56

So I didn't make the ballot so missed out on the pre sale and I'm angered that viagogo have purchased a load of pre sale tickets and are selling them for 600 quid each! It's a dream to see oasis in Manchester (my home town) and its looking very unlikely unless some miracle happens in the queue for general sale tomorrow... just ranting but please keep your fingers crossed for me

@Sugargliderwombat did you manually refresh or just rely on the auto refresh?

pollypocet · 31/08/2024 14:03

I would have snapped your arm off!!

That's what Ticketmaster want to hear. They have form for withdrawing cheaper tickets and maybe dynamic pricing is involved

When was this though ?

Ticketmaster frequently think I'm a bot. I don't know why. I'm usually only after a single ticket. I'm not taking part in this particular scramble, but people I know have eventually turned tail when the price of the tickets had risen to stupid levels once they got to the front of the queue. They wanted to pay for gig tickets, not go without a holiday.

If you use a VPN they think you’re a bot

I'm guessing not now as I've just tried that and it's the same process of queue to access the site 🤦🏻‍♀️

I don't use a VPN. DD frequently does, and gets through it no bother.

pollypocet · 31/08/2024 14:09

@SweetTeaCup about 30-45 mins ago. We spent all morning faffing about with ticketmaster

Because it's OK too overcharge as long as they pocket the money I guess.

I managed to get lucky and joined queue around 8.45 at number 12689 for Cardiff 5/07 Got to number 1 and then thought they had kicked me out but there is a bit of a glitch. Got through to sales screen around 10.30 and very little left. Ended up paying double the advertised cost for “platinum” seats. Bought 2 for DS and his super fan best mate.
They will be a decent 21st birthday present and are good seats ( currently same block is on sale on viagogo for £2-7k each although I’m not allowed to sell them and I’m sure they would be cancel if I tried).
At 10.30 there was very little left, the initial prices are dynamic so no cheap seats available.
It’s very sad that they are allowed to increase the price during the sales process and for many people they will be out of reach.

See this is where I'm so confused as my DH also joined the queue at 8:30am and was then 98,000 in the queue for Cardiff 05/07!? It's like other PPs saying they've been able to get tickets really quickly through other sites but no luck for us with those either! All seems very random and inequaitable... 🤷🏻‍♀️

I got mine about 20 ago for Wembley.

I saw Oasis in 1998 and they were one of the worst bands I’ve ever seen. Liam was just really boring, did nothing on stage expect the typical ‘stance’ and walk. I wouldn’t want to see them again, and I can’t understand the fuss.

Me too, worst gig I’ve ever been to. Waste of £30!

Junibug · 31/08/2024 14:15

Finally got to front of queue for Murrayfield. Put two standing tickets in the basket (£216 each). Then it said redirecting you to checkout and has been whirring away ever since. Gah!!!

JumpstartMondays · 31/08/2024 14:16

NyeRobey · 31/08/2024 13:43

My DH got put in the numberless queue around 8am. When I tried joining at 9 I got put straight in the actual queue. So it seems like it's just pure luck who gets through.

No way! That hardly seems fair does it!

Petunia2024 · 31/08/2024 14:17

I was 3080 in the queue for Edinburgh this morning and managed to get 4 tickets on one device. DS joined under a different account minutes later on another device after I logged on and was 12090. Seats in the same section I bought this morning are now selling on Viagogo for between £2800 and £4974. I don’t know how they can be sold via these sites as I’m sure I read somewhere they were to be cancelled if sold through third parties?

dontforgetme · 31/08/2024 14:17

@hermumsty that's 0 money left until payday if I'd have purchased those tickets.

I'm absolutely gutted but £700.. and that's still with accommodation left to book.

Ticketmaster are a fucking disgrace.

It did that to me earlier, it whirred for 10 minutes before going through.

I think a few posters have mentioned now that it's at the band's discretion if they offer surge pricing. So I'm assuming it's oasis who get the extra cash.

wonderstuff · 31/08/2024 14:24

Just got into the queue, only 487405 people in front of me! 😂

Gooseysgirl · 31/08/2024 14:25

£350 for standing at Wembley when I got through in the end. No fucking way am I paying that. Trying the refresh on See and Gigs but not having any luck

Good on you. I wouldn't pay that either. A lot of people who have paid double would never have entered the queue in the first place if they knew they'd be paying that price. After being in the queue for hours and finally getting the chance they've developed FOMO and fork out. Shocking.

If it's correct that Oasis would have had to agree to the surging prices and they could have said no, that's a reason to boycott the greedy fuckers right there. Band of the people my arse.
