Oasis tickets

So I didn't make the ballot so missed out on the pre sale and I'm angered that viagogo have purchased a load of pre sale tickets and are selling them for 600 quid each! It's a dream to see oasis in Manchester (my home town) and its looking very unlikely unless some miracle happens in the queue for general sale tomorrow... just ranting but please keep your fingers crossed for me

I love this from the guardian:

This is the greatest day of many British people's lives as we're stuck in a queue full of nostalgia with little chance of success and ample opportunity for complaining.

Oldfatandfrumpy · 31/08/2024 09:53

You are the only person I have heard of ( out of around 60 ) to not have got presale tickets…..you must have been very unlucky

I don't know anyone that got a code, despite lots of people trying. I'd suggest maybe the people this PP knows are just very lucky!

I was in the queue for the queue for about 1 1/4 hours - now through and over 200,000 in the real queue 😂

Twikets nearer the time for me I think!

I've just signed up to Twickets. Hadn't heard of them before this thread so thanks all 👌

I'm not willing to spend all day trying. 16000 and 26000 right now for Heaton Park. This is a joke. Must be sold out surely.

And that's my point. Those who are despairing now that they won't get them, DO have a chance because of the number of people who aren't prepared to spend all day getting them. The people who are willing to stick with it, will get them. There will be a massive drop out in people trying in while.

I think tickets are unlikely to sell out before 2pm (and that's my pessimistic guess) I think it more likely that the last few will still be available until early this evening.

It'll be quicker than that. The speed the numbers go down by gets quicker the closer you get to the front. Loads of people quit because they think they have no hope.

I think you it's likely to be sooner than 6pm but probably after lunch. Maybe 1pm if you are lucky.

If you want them stick with it. I am confident you will get them.

It moves faster at the end because its either sold out or the tickets left are at extortionate prices, and people drop out. That's what has happened with Dublin which went on sale an hour ahead of the UK.

I’m in a queue for Cardiff with about 68000 in front of me. Was about 74000 when I started so it is going down!

WalterHWhite · 31/08/2024 09:55

@JumpstartMondays Not sure what to do if I get out if the queue for the queue - I’ll have to actually do something!

Yawncat · 31/08/2024 09:57

110437 ahead of me for Heaton Park been on it since 8.15!

Has Dublin been officially declared as sold out?

There will be returned tickets. Worth trying a little longer after it's 'sold out' for this reason too.

There is likely to be tickets which quietly go on sale again at another point too - it's worth checking back in a few days.

Trust me. It's how Ticketmaster works these days.

purplehue · 31/08/2024 10:01

I refreshed and now have a number 😁

User68 · 31/08/2024 10:01

Logged in to Ticketmaster at 8am but kept getting logged out. Now in queue for tickets for Wembley with 168,000 in front!! I'll just keep in on whilst I get on with my day but not looking likely.

Ooh should I refresh??

I will keep my laptop open while I’m in the house, but I need to take DS swimming at 12.30 so that’s my official cut off point!

You may aswell leave your laptop open when you’re out as you’ll probably still be in the queue when you get back & for extra back up maybe also try on your phone?
That’s what I’m doing so I can go about my day while still in the queue just to log on!

ZenNudist · 31/08/2024 10:02

DH says we could have queued for 4 events on each computer. We have only queued for one event per computer. Amateurs clearly.

I didn't mind so much queuing for this one because I wouldn't mind seeing oasis compared to trying to get tix for something DS likes that i dont.

i do feel like I've done it in the 90s plus i have seen Noel IRL in a hotel we both stayed in.

150 each to stand in heaton park for hours feels like a bad deal for me. Plus its going to rain. I just want to try for DS.

It might be a cunning plan to get people kicked out 😱😂

SevenKingsMustDie · 31/08/2024 10:03

I tried for Sabrina Carpenter on my laptop and phone and got kicked out for being a bot as I was in two places at once!

Elephantscantjump · 31/08/2024 10:03

Queue down to 52,404 so only 5114 places moved in the first hour. I'll be going to bed again before I get to the front.

Evenstar · 31/08/2024 10:03

I assumed if you refreshed you would go to the back of the queue again

Mistycactus · 31/08/2024 10:04

I opened a new window on my phone and it put me to the same place as the other queue

I have gone paranoid like this 😂 people saying dublin sold put but no official ticketmaster announcement yet. They could be just doing it to get others to leave the queue.

Mine didn't, went to the same place. However I accept no responsibility. 😄
