How old were you when you got married?

NC'd just in case anyone can identify me with previous posts.

I was 20 when I first got married, divorced at 23 and I'm about to get married for the second time at the age of 26. For various reasons, I don't really count my first marriage as a marriage, as we were not husband and wife in any sense of the words, it was a horrific relationship to be in (for me). So I feel like I'm getting married for the first time, even though it's not technically true. How old were you when you got married?

Still married

Both 24 when we married, still happily married for 46 years.

I was 25.
We had been together 9 years and had an 8 year old.
Still happily married 8 years later ❤️

We were 24. Celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary this year. We've been together since we were 18. He's truly my soulmate.

The only ones out of our friends to marry and have kids young but it's the best thing we've ever done

22 the first time; 32 the second time.

The first lasted 4 years; the second is on 26 years and still going.

Met at 18, married at 27. Both nearly snuffed it a couple of times between us (accidents and medical emergency type illnesses) but still here annoying the fuck out of each other.

57 but we had been together since we were 18.

33 - still going strong 20 years later

Last summer for the first time at 39.

35 with 4dcs still married

1 week after my 20th birthday. DH was 19. Celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary in March

I was 22. He was 32. I was 27 when our daughter was born. Split up and divorced when I was 33.
I remarried when I was 35. DS was born when I was 36. I was widowed at 48.
That was 16 years ago. I am 64. I haven't had another relationship since I was widowed. My first husband died in 2021.

Married at 24 Dh was 30 still married now 67 years later

24. To be honest, I'd be horrified if any of my goddaughters got married at 24 these days! It was normal then but, really, what was the rush? Later marriages make much more sense.

Dh and I got married in 1998, aged 25y.
We'd been together for 8 years since we were 16. Had been to university separately but stayed together throughout, moved in together after that in 1996,
We had dd in 2002.
Celebrated 25 years wedding anniversary last year

Married at 25, 9 months after we met. Still together 32 years later.

21 still married 18 years later

32 - last year! About half my friends have not (yet, in some cases, in that I think they intend to) been married, so quite a late blooming set by the looks of these responses.

22, married end of uni, 25 years ago. Feel very blessed to say he was the best decision I have ever made.
