How old were you when you got married?

NC'd just in case anyone can identify me with previous posts.

I was 20 when I first got married, divorced at 23 and I'm about to get married for the second time at the age of 26. For various reasons, I don't really count my first marriage as a marriage, as we were not husband and wife in any sense of the words, it was a horrific relationship to be in (for me). So I feel like I'm getting married for the first time, even though it's not technically true. How old were you when you got married?

I was 26, he was 28. Still married 34 years later, but looking back it seems very young.

I was 21, he was 23. That was in 1968 and he still makes my heart sing.

30, still happily married now at 45

21 - 38 years ago.

27 me and 44 him. It was his second marriage, my first.

Married at 28, DH 29. We are both 47 now, 19 yrs married next September. All our friends who were in couples that time are still together bar one.

33. Been together 18years now!

42. I’m not the type to rush into things 😆

Married at 27 he was 38 and still together. 20 years next month.

20 years old 1977. Still together.

20yrs. 38 now and still married

Married for nearly 27 yrs and then widowed.

28, DH 32..
It will be 16 years this year, we were together 3 years before we married

25, just 3 months ago

We’ve been together coming up 6 years, lived together 4 years and bought a house together

25. I'm 36 now and got divorced earlier this year.

Me 32, him 31. been married nearly 8 years. 20 and 26 both soundsyoung in this day and age. I wouldn't rush into it after already being divorced.

18 been married 47 years.

Met at 19, married at 21 still together at 40.

27 husband was 30.He died at 52.

44 and on a personal level I would’ve been fine not to bother but we had 2 kids (3 and 1 on our wedding day) so legally sensible and he wanted to so…..

I’m romantic in some ways but have never been so about marriage. I learnt about it as a legal/property issue and having clocked that I’ve found it hard to see it as a misty-eyed ‘this is the one’ type of thing. But I don’t think that detracts from it; for me, seeing it as being something you enter into clear-headed and rationally makes it more significant and profound, not less.

29 - divorced at 38
Remarried at 44 still married and I'm now 53

Me 23, DH 28.

Still having a great time 45 years later.

Divorced this year, 46.

Married 42 years ago when we were 27 and 28.
