How old were you when you got married?

NC'd just in case anyone can identify me with previous posts.

I was 20 when I first got married, divorced at 23 and I'm about to get married for the second time at the age of 26. For various reasons, I don't really count my first marriage as a marriage, as we were not husband and wife in any sense of the words, it was a horrific relationship to be in (for me). So I feel like I'm getting married for the first time, even though it's not technically true. How old were you when you got married? Smile

I was 25. He was 21. Lived together for 2 years first. He died at 70 just a few months short of golden wedding. Most girls in our village were married with children by 21. At 25 I was considered practically 'on the shelf' but I chose to have a career (teaching). Children born when I was 30, 37 and 43. No regrets.

I got married at 23( I would be horrified if either of my children get married at that age, eldest turns 23 this year)

we will celebrate our silver wedding anniversary next year.

married at 17, married for 7 years. Divorced over a decade ago. He was 9 years older.

Met when I was 17 he is 8 years older bought a house when I was 19 got married when I was 23 I am 47 now still married seems very young now looking back at it as I have dd nearly 23 and ds 19!

  1. Been married 6 years now, with DH for 11. He was married before although I don't know how old he was at the time. It didn't last very long.

I was in a 10 year relationship before though, had two DC there but was always told "marriage is just a piece of paper" by him. Glad I didn't have to go through a divorce when we split up at least.

1st marriage aged 19 divorced 29. Met my now husband aged 34,married at 38. We've been together 10 years this month. The best husband in the world 🙏🏽🙏🏽

I turned 28 the day before we got married, DH was 27. Widowed at 37 😭 alone ever since.

I was 28 when I got married it lasted 6 months we was together over 8 years, and he cheated on me broke my heart literally ripped it out of my body! I don't think I could ever get married again.
