It's Election Eve, Eve, I'm so excited!

Collecting my ballot box tomorrow, love having a look through it and then it waiting by my front door for the morning!

Election Eve, Eve! I love it!

DH's work rang and asked him if he could come into work on Friday (one of his days off) and I heard him laugh and say 'No mate, I will be in no fit state, you lot get football, I get tories crying in sports halls'. I have never been more attracted to him. 😂😂

Piggy hope ofsted is going alright 🤞

I saw Rosie Holt at an event. She was very good.

I bet some people would vote for her.

Saucery · 02/07/2024 08:12

Tice came out swinging on the Today prog this morning.

Jonathan Pie on TOP form.

Hello, I’ve been a long time lurker on these threads but have just popped in to wish you all happy election eve, eve. The threads have been a great counterbalance to doom scrolling the ‘why do labour hate people like me’, ‘why I’m voting reform’ and ‘vat on school fees will contravene our human rights’ threads (presumably being forced nudists & freezing wouldn’t contravene the rest of our human rights as vat is on adult clothes and boiler repairs, but ho hum).
I have everything crossed for a massive labour majority - not because I think they can make great changes in the short term, but honest, competent and at least attempting to alleviate poverty rather than exacerbate it, will be a start. I’m worrying about how reform will do (imagining worse case scenarios where Farage becomes leader of the opposition), so it has been nice reading some (tempered) positivity for the future here.

SerendipityJane · 02/07/2024 08:51

There is evidence that the media is deliberately "adjusting" polls as they feel the truth is too outré

And as posted upthread the Tories have only just worked out that their paranoia about Reform, and natural antagonism to Labour has meant they and their client media have pretty much forgotten there was a LibDem party. (Why do you think Ed Davey was doing all those stunts ? It was the only way to get the LibDems in the news most days.)

If the main prize Friday is a Labour win, gilding the lily would be the LibDems exacting revenge on the Tories for 2015 and silently becoming official opposition. If that happens, then childish as it may be, I want Ed Davey to go past CCHQ on the back of a motorbike flipping the bird to them.

I agree!

Normally I snigger away at his videos but watching that actually made me well up - I think I may be tired and emotional! 😆

I feckin' can't wait for Thursday.

I misread your post; it's your fault I thought it was Wednesday and wrote 'VOTE TOMORROW!!!!' on my wipe board... (just making a point of letting myself know I'm not officially losing it).

Also excited!

VoteOutToHelpOut · 02/07/2024 09:02

Happy Election Eve Eve!

I was looking at Electoral Calculus yesterday, at all the seats the Tories are predicted to lose. I can't quite believe it will happen.

Welcome @owlbookend ! Some of the doom and gloom posts are unintentionally funny. The best one was the one that claimed all the high and middle earners of the UK will leave, leaving us with just the lower earners.

@Serendipityjane Ed Davey on the back of a motorbike flipping the bird is a great image!

I would love a Lib Dem opposition. Love, love, love!

@SerendipityJane Ed Davey on the back of a motorbike flipping the bird. I'm imagining something like this.
