Favourite Lego sets?

I’ve recently got into Lego, what are your favourite Lego sets?

my personal favourite is the Bonsai tree. I just love the frogs!

My hand slipped and I ordered the Lego Typewriter 🙂

Aw man, I hate it when that happens 🤦‍♀️ Get it built to tidy all those little pieces away. Maybe post a photo as a warning to others not to be so careless?!

Just erm, how did your hand slip exactly? Was it because you had a cup of coffee or something? Just need to know so I can do the same as you avoid whatever you did.

There is also a third site called rebrickable where designers sell their designs and versions of builds. This site will link to your brickset page and calculate what other pieces you need. This can then link you to bricklist where you can find a seller for the bricks you are short

Anyone else curious about the Lego Endurance ship which is planned for November release?

Got a Lego night planned this evening.

DD1 has Quidditch
DD2 has Stitch
I have Insects (already done butterfly, the other 2)

Then DD1 has the milky way and I have the NHM for next week.

I mean, I am now! 😄 For the children, of course....

The winter release in Oct of the hot air balloon with house and Christmas tree is what I'm looking forward to .

We have the bird of paradise plant from the botanical range. It’s the few years old now so I think no longer available direct. But it’s sits in dh office and is the first plant he’s managed to not kill!

If I want to buy a set that is out of production, is there any specific site to look on? Or is there somewhere that shows all previous sets?

And, perhaps for you @ReacherSaidNothing how do you know of sets that are coming out soon?

I have this, and the world map. And Starry Night: that set is beautiful but I wish it was twice the size! I wish they would do more recreations of classic artworks. They are fun to build especially if 3D like Starry Night, and take up less storage space.

I have lots of the flowers (the roses are particularly lovely if you make 24 for a bouquet). And the Orchid. The giant lego man is also cute. He waters the smaller flowers with the lego watering can. 😁

Favourite kits that my 7 year old has done are R2D2, the Delorian, the International Space Station and the Harry Potter Icon kit (it consists of a giant Hedvig, and other stuff like the golden snitch, a stack of books, invitation to Hogwarts etc).

The larger 3 in 1 kits that make a giraffe and another one that makes an astronaut are really cool too.

I was tempted by this but found it so disappointing that it doesn't come with minifigures of the original characters with their plasma guns and a lego mini Slimer. In fact, I wrote to customer services to suggest it. 🤣

@SexSectionNameChange Brickset is a fantastic website.
It lists all the sets by year and theme and gives news of forthcoming sets.
If you want to buy an old set there is often a link under the set listing to Amazon, eBay or Bricklink (depending on if it's available).

6374 from the 80s but recently built the Home Alone house and it's fabulous!

The home alone house is my next purchase . Happy Christmas to me .

I’ve currently got the The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr built and sitting on my dining room table waiting to be moved to wherever it’s supposed to be displayed . It looks much better in real life than it does on the box .

I realise this thread has been quiet for a while, but I just had to respond to your post. I love this and I’m off to try to find it 🙂

I put up 5 huge shelves over a whole wall of DS's room a year ago. Now all filled with lego. I'm going to have to move his bed and cover another wall with shelves. R2D2 now has Chewbacca and C3PO to keep him company. Since Christmas the boy has build the lego minecraft crafting table, C3PO and Diagon Alley. 🙈

I've got more flowers and plants to build. I have Stitch and Heihei on order. I do like these funny little kits of characters dotted around my study, like the characters from "Up" and "Inside Out 2". Such a child. 🤣

I am also very tempted by the lego piano... but mainly just wishing they'd release some more of the art kits that you can hang on the walls so they don't take up so much space! I absolutely love the milky way and lego map and starry night ones that I've done but there aren't any more at the moment that appeal to me.

I saw a video on TikTok a while ago about a guy who has a huge house (US) and his entire basement is a "Lego Room". Dreams...

I love Lego, build Lego and work at a toyshop that sells 70% Lego.
