I have the large Disney Castle complete with the lighting set which really sets it off.

Scissorsisters · 21/06/2024 16:06

I like the Christmas village models. DS and I set up a diorama with 'snow' on the ground and fairy lights. I'd love the custom lighting kits but they are so ££.

Also I have a soft spot for the household furnishings sets from the 1970s.

LonginesPrime · 21/06/2024 16:10

Have you tried the Tranquil Garden, OP?

I think you'll like it if you like the bonsai tree - it's really lovely.

My favourites are Ninjago City, Docks and Gardens. I've little interest in Ninjago but these sets are immense. The detail is amazing, I love how colourful they are and they were a joy to build; discovering all the little details. Sadly I have nowhere to put the Markets so I haven't got that 😫

ReacherSaidNothing · 21/06/2024 16:22

We love Lego in this house. On display atm we have:

Haunted house
Downtown Diner
Old fishing store
Parisian restaurant

Still to build:

Concorde
Assembly square
Mclaren F1 car

I also have a soft spot for the Lego Friends sets (as in the ones based on the Lego show, not the sitcom!) and DH has quite a few Christmas sets too.

Mcullumswoman · 21/06/2024 16:33

75192 millenium falcon I took ages to build it because I didn't want it to end and might have shed a little tear when I finished.
I got my partner (who isn't into lego at all) to build a little piece at the very end, it was a gift from him and thought it would be nice to have a little piece by him in there. It's a part you can't see and he gets it even less now.
Want to do the light house next.

GasPanic · 21/06/2024 16:35

Saturn V space rocket.

I am mulling the Artemis rocket at the moment. It looks enormous.

Davros · 21/06/2024 16:45

I love my Lego bouquet and wild flower bouquet. We also had the Christmas wreath and Christmas trees. I love Lego but I do NOT want to make it, DD does it all for me. Now I need to get some more, thanks to this thread. I've got my eye on the orchid.

Saisong · 21/06/2024 16:45

Answering for DS it would be the Mindstorms EV3 robot (31313), with programmable motors, tracks, IR etc.

He also loved 4958, a 3 in 1 dino/spider/gator with motor functions.

Both are out of production, and it took me a long time to track down a reasonably priced sets via ebay/Gumtree.

I love Lego!
My favourites are

Scooby-Doo sets
Polaroid camera
The Tardis - Doctor Who
Wall-E
Lego movie Benny's Spaceship
I have loads of Lego City stuff but sadly no room to display atm.

DoraChance · 21/06/2024 17:20

We splashed out on the Home Alone house last December and had great fun building it. It's very Christmassy.

It’s beautiful - added it to my list. Thank you

My sons have been building Lego for years and I've recently rediscovered it. I got myself the botanical set for my birthday. Too many sets I would like though

PuttingDownRoots · 21/06/2024 17:24

DD has got the Milky Way from her grandparents for her birthday. Its going to be a tiring build but Ican't wait for the final result.

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 21/06/2024 17:25

I can't cope with Lego, but I often buy sets for my daughter and her partner who love building them together. They share a tortie cat, so I am REALLY hoping for a little tortie set to be included in the cats!

protectoroftherealm · 21/06/2024 17:49

My son collects Lego! These are some of his sets! We've now got Natural history Museum, Concord and another modular one that I can't remember sat on the dining table waiting for another shelf to be built! Lego is life!

Wow! Do you have your own designated LEGO room?!

Yes but we have pieces all over the house. For example I have a lot of the art pieces hanging, the eiffel tower is in my hallway as a art piece.
I've got the piano on my dining room sideboard... that sort of thing.

I don't have children though so it's not a worry that they will get trashed. I do have a dog and his tail is sometimes a worry.

IOweMySanityToBasilParsley · 21/06/2024 19:30

My favourite is the birdhouse, the little birds are so cute. I would love the home alone house but ££££

I have the Friends apartment set and Central Perk. I like moving the characters around but they get so dusty! Has anyone managed to find display boxes that fit them?

Also love doing the Architecture ones of cities I’ve been to, done San Fran, New York, Las Vegas and Tokyo. London and Paris are in their boxes waiting to be built.

Guineapigmadness · 21/06/2024 19:51

Just finished Rivendell which was an amazing set to build and looks very pretty, Dd and I have built about 15 sets, our next one is the Universe. We have a very long wish list which we will slowly buy sets from but they keep bringing out more sets we want.

Bjorkdidit · 21/06/2024 19:57

I have the wildflowers. I've also bought the typewriter because I saw it on offer but I haven't built it yet.

Needmorelego · 21/06/2024 19:59

@Bjorkdidit apparently the typewriter is a bit of a boring build. I know someone who gave up halfway through.
Edit: actually I think it was the piano they gave up on....

scalt · 21/06/2024 20:04

The Friends theatre. The detail is amazing, down to the sliding curtains, and the backstage toilet!

puddingisgood · 21/06/2024 20:07

I've recently got Snow White's cottage, which is lovely, although the roof was tricky.
My favourite theme is Scooby Doo, and I have all of the sets on a shelf on my bookcase.

I’ve just finished the little mermaid set. It got a lot of negative reviews and I picked it up 40% off, but I really enjoyed building it. I had no issues with it.

I’ve been building the modular sets lately but have run out of plates for the MILS system. The museum just arrived, I bought it during double points last week along with Rivendell, which is back ordered until Sept! But that’ll get me $100 credit to use towards something else. Maybe the Snow White cottage. I have a long list! H wants the Artemis as he worked on it for 2 years (the real one not the Lego one) but he said it’s still the design from the other engineering company not his company and thought he should wait until they do it again. Erm, I don’t think they’ll redo it!

I also like the Milky Way art, definitely on the list!
