The tories love blue on blue violence, so anything is possible.

I'd say it's 70:30 that he'll stay on until the GE.

God knows what those odds will be by the end of the week though!

(Cameron even stood in for sunak on the day day anniversary heads of state photo op!)

Anybody got the odds on bringing back Bozo in a triumphal return? By public demand, ladies and gentleman, the Blond Bombshell of Brexit appearing at a Conservative conclave near you. Shudder.

It’s a wonder they haven’t resorted to digging up Churchill.

Tory manifesto staying they want to get rid of NI completely.

Hidden in plain sight.

I'm surprised they haven't already.

Northern Ireland?

IClaudine · 10/06/2024 22:50

I read that as Northern Ireland too!

Thingscanonlygetsunk · 10/06/2024 22:47

Northern Ireland?

And the Falklands, possibly Gibraltar...

user8800 · 10/06/2024 22:57

National Insurance!

But......????????

newnamethanks · 10/06/2024 22:58

They can still be regarded as assets and are all available for sale to the highest bidder. Maybe not NI, could be difficult. But Gibraltar and the Falklands? Why not? Everything else has gone. Nice little earner, Tories, don't overlook them.

tobee · 10/06/2024 23:01

Every time someone mentions Cameron being parachuted in to be re Prime Ministered after inflicting the referendum on us, stupidly worded, stupidly 50/50, in order to solve the long standing psychodrama of his own party, before not campaigning well enough, losing it, then whistling off to write his remaindered book in his shepherds hut, him coming back, for however long, would feel like the universe giving us all the most tremendous collective raspberry

MaybeNotBob · 10/06/2024 23:01

Well, Gibraltar is already trying to join Schengen, so they're obviously traitors to the Brexshit cause...

A 2p cut to NI - and I didn’t think public services could get any worse. I look forward to teaching all your children under a corrugated iron roof (tbf, it’s probably safer than the roof I have currently).

Close up of Rishi Sunak's face as he speaks during a neighbourhood watch meeting at a pub in Horsham, West Sussex

Tories pledge further 2p NI cut ahead of manifesto launch

Rishi Sunak claims another Tory government would help working people "keep more of the money you earn".

Appealing to innate selfishness isn’t going to work any more now people can see the appalling deficits in public services every single day. I hope.

I’d like 1p in the pound NI for absolutely everybody though. Was it Lib Dem or Labour who suggested that a while back, I forget?

The 2 previous NI cuts had no effect on Tory polling.

People get a small extra weekly amount and then get a £1200 bill for dentistry/pot hole car repair ot the NI reduction is eaten up by Council Tax rises.

The cuts in NI amount to around 31 billion in further public service cuts, as thats the only way they can fund them.

He's basically done a half hour interview, telling the nation that he lies. Twat.

Haven't watched it yet but I'm betting this is a spot on summary

BIossomtoes · 10/06/2024 21:58

I thought Nick Robinson looked really rough. His questioning was en point though. Watching Sunak petulant and squirming made my day.

Listened to Nick on R4 yesterday talking about these interviews. He was very clear about what they were about and thought he'd be good when the time came.

from Shaun Lintern's Twitter feed. Sarah Wollaston, former Tory & L/D MP and chair of Health Select Committee

With regret I have decided to resign as chair of NHS Devon. Thank you to all the wonderful NHS, care and voluntary sector teams that are out there doing their very best in challenging circumstances. Did not feel able to sign off on a further cut; elastic already stretched too far

It really makes no sense to ‘punish’ the most challenged systems with penalties on their capital budgets when access to capital is essential to improving their performance, conditions and safety. The state of our infrastructure in too many places is frankly shocking

The next government needs to stop the cycle of capital to revenue transfers and pay serious attention to investing in NHS infrastructure. Also need to address the shocking waste of public money and lost opportunities due to delays in accessing capital

I wouldn't put it past them to sell the falklands as long as the deal included housing all the asylum seekers there.

Ready made country and economy and money in their mates pockets.
