A certain irony that a Mr Stride is sent out to do interviews defending the Prime Minister who walked away from the D Day commemorations.

The multi-millionaire targeting the poorest members of society isn't really a great look.

Lots of Lib Dem placards round us. It's a constituency that is pretty certain to go their way anyway.

Labour very busy here, lots of posters & boards Wes Streeting was out earlier with the candidate haven’t seen any sign of the Tories or any other party so far.

My parents both paid tax on SP.

Although I guess giving pensioners a 8.5% increase will push many more into paying tax?

They are all very quiet here.we've had nothing at all from anyone. I think I've seen 2 labour signs and 1 lib dem, but my area is pretty much guaranteed to go labour this time.

I met our local labour councillor the other day and requested a labour banner for dh. It can be seen for miles on our house in the right place, so hopefully one will be forthcoming.

Wouldn’t expect anything less.

I've noticed an increase in the expression "left wing Labour government" since it was clear they are far more centric than the Tory's!

But I'm actually expecting it to increase more since during Fridays debate nearly every other candidate said how Labour were basically just the Tory's to encourage the left wing vote to go to them.

Made me think of it reading the spectator article where the reform candidate said it!

This on the other hand was not racism and was misunderstood. Haran is standing against Bayo Alaba in Southend.

One Conservative candidate just messages this for circulation:

“Richard Holden is a disgrace to the Conservative Party. He’s put himself over candidates. He’s shown complete disdain for Party members. The only reason this fool won’t be associated with this disastrous election is because nobody believes anyone thinks he competent, capable or trusted enough to be involved in the day to day decision making of this campaign. It’s a running joke amongst candidates that they hope it’s a Labour gain in Basildon and Billericay.”

I love this summer, we're not going on holiday until the end of August but I have so many of my favourite things to fill my time! The Euros, the Olympics, the GE (including my polling station role that I adore) now maybe a French election and the run up to the US election! I sports fan/political nerds dream!

Parliamentary elections- first round on 30th June. I think second round on 2nd July. So fast!
