Labour being in Government and Farage as LOTO would do wonders for support for Scottish Independence Grin

Actually, no, even I wouldn't wish that on England. Hmm

Dh, on the other hand, has no such qualms! Wink

user8800 · 03/06/2024 16:36

For those of you who have watched parks and recreation: With most tories and reform candidates, all I hear in my head when they speak is (said in in a deep ben wyatt voice)
"Bobby Newport never had a real job in his life..."
🤣

Only if they switch to Tories and surely they will be mighty pissed off to be used like that?

It happened last time. He pulled whatever they were called then in Tory marginals.

What do people think this means about U.S elections? I thought Trump was still riding high? Or at least neck and neck?

Farage seems to be spinning it that Trump is doing so well, he doesn't need Nige, so he's free to 'save us' instead...

Penny Mordaunt is replacing Sunak for the 7 way leaders debate on Friday https://x.com/johnnyd_ee/status/1797642408106361309?s=61&t=xKCXjKa1-S6Ks0nSd_LXGg

upinaballoon · 03/06/2024 16:40

Derailing I know but last week on 'Dead Ringers' someone said, "Nigel Farage and Piers Morgan were on 'Question Time'. The other two Horsemen of the Apocalypse were unavailable."

dontcallmelen · 03/06/2024 16:45

Oh dear, will she be carrying a sword swishing her hair & telling us all “fight fight fight”

Huh? I thought he was accusing Starmer of bottling it due to not planning to spend all his time in debates.

It's also quite odd because they've been keeping Mordaunt in her box to date, probably because they're scared of her prospective leadership bid. But maybe a grown-up looked at the alternatives and decided they had no choice.

Hmmm
Do parties get the mrp polls earlier than the public?

Evenstar · 03/06/2024 16:50

I did see Russ Jones on Twitter earlier laughing that the poll released earlier showed a 3% drop after Rishi going out campaigning, don’t know if MRP is released earlier to some. Looking 👀 forward to seeing it at 5pm on Sky

Surely this is a big deal?!?!

Evenstar · 03/06/2024 16:52

@tobee it feels like it, admitting that someone else can do a better job than the Prime Minister and leader of your party

Heavenssakes · 03/06/2024 16:54

I don't think any of leaders are down to do the 7-way on Friday. Angela Rayner is there for Labour.
So reports of Rishi being frit are a misunderstanding.

tobee · 03/06/2024 16:56

Ah I see!

Evenstar · 03/06/2024 16:56

@Heavenssakes thanks for clearing that up

Countdown to YouGov

IClaudine · 03/06/2024 17:00

I am even more worried now about Reform pulling candidates in some seats. Farage might do some sort of deal with the Tories.

Well the tories would have to go for it first.

But even if they try the same stunt as 2019, it's not the same circumstances.

And frankly I suspect the Tories are even more sick of Brexit than Remainers at this point. And Farage is a single issue personality. Brexit, Brexit and Brexit.

I suspect "our mate Phil" will be slicing and dicing the deeper stats - keep an eye out.

pointythings · 03/06/2024 17:10

Interesting difference between those two polls, is it methodology/assumptions about the 'don't knows'?

SNP number of seats looks on the high side in the first one.

Evenstar · 03/06/2024 17:11

12 out of 26 Cabinet Ministers predicted to lose their seats
