@Churchview - snap Smile! We were fortunate enough to see these 3 cygnets take their first swim last week. We were starting to wonder if the clutch had failed (it's a new, young pair of swans in our local pond, which hasn't had a nesting pair on its island for at least 4 years) and then we saw them taken on their first expedition onto the water. Dh had been taking his camera in expectation for ages....

And welcome to the new faces - I've seen some of you on other batshit threads fighting the good fight against misinformation.

Evenstar · 30/05/2024 21:16

Thank you so much for the warm welcome.

@Spandauer - your lucky black cat has my vote.

@prettybird The little one hitching a ride is just too cute.

@pointythings The batshit threads!!! I want to ignore them, but can't just let the 'FACTS' sit there. I need to start a thread asking advice on how to stand clear of the batshit.

The FACTS are impressive.

Dog duty paid, cone of shame removed from previous. I wish it was just as easy to remove Tories as it was his broken claw!

You won’t get much help here. None of us can resist it. We’re quite fond of facts as opposed to FACTS.

I'm fully state - comprehensive Shock - educated. I, my parents, the school were all highly aspirational Grin

The only reason I didn't become a doctor - like my dad Wink - was because I didn't want to (although my results were good enough to have done so Wink). But he never pushed me - just encouraged me to do my best.

Many of my school friends (from said state comprehensive school Wink) went on to medical or vet school - one of them to Oxbridge.

I did get a really good job after graduation on the mill round - so my education must have done some good Smile

But maybe that "aspiration" is because I'm in Scotland Grin

DS’s old school is older than Farage’s. And state. So fuck off, Farage.

Ah yes! I thought it sounded familiar.
Art imitating Life imitating Art or is it Life imitating Art imitating Life? 😆

May not be totally related to Sunak, but the jury in the Trump trial have reached a verdict, there are forms to be completed so the announcement is expected in about half an hour. Many Tories are Trump fans.

Not too long to go before Tories are third in the polls, hopefully.
