It's not a terribly good luck for the government in power when they can't supply the DWP with an adequately functioning IT system. If Sunak had half a brain he would have thrown everything at sorting this out when the problem began emerging on Friday.

When you're running a campaign along the lines of "What we're doing is working", something that points up so starkly how many people are absolutely dependent on the relatively small sums they get through child benefit doesn't really enhance the picture you are trying to paint. And they can't even brush it all off with claims about scroungers, given that it's a benefit claimed by such a large proportion of the working population.

Also her tone is aggressive. She's quicker than most other politicians to accuse the interviewer of interrrupting/ being obtuse etc. And she doesn't manage to disguise her annoyance .

I gasped at her response to attack on Jess Philips. Maybe she thinks she's coming across as being level headed and no nonsense or something but she comes across to me as a fascist.
