I am deeply unimpressed at the Conservatives single sex pledge issued today. If it were that important, they could have issued a statutory amendment to the Equalities Act clarifying the difference between biological legal sex. Preferably at the same time they quietly barred male rapists from women's prisons last year, after the SNP cock-up.

It's posturing. Labour isn't any better - they supported the Scottish Gender Recognition Bill which was a spectacular tangle of bad law. The only breadcrumbs of comfort they've given out is that Wes Streeting agrees with the Cass Review and the need for single sex spaces in the NHS. The devil will be in the detail.

The best I can offer is that neither party is as batshit crazy as the Greens on this issue.

Right now, I am more interested in defence policy.

I agree with every word. However, I live in Scotland. I have an ASD Dd who is trying to work out who they are / their place in the world as most teens do. She (& ND pals) are really susceptible to the nonsense being promulgated up here by SNP/Greens, compound by the 'Hate laws' (as you say, a spectacularly bad tangle of law). All the parties 'speaking out' are merely posturing. No one is willing to think or speak about whether it is possible to live in a world that respects all our rights (answer: prob not). No politician want to make any hard choices or firm statements.

What rude things did she say @itsgettingweird ? What was her attitude? Everything else has been pretty much all Sunak up to now so I'm interested!

According to Politico this morning, Kemi Badenoch "will play a more active role in the Conservative campaign" from now on.

But a senior Tory source tells HuffPost UK: "She needs to be locked in a fridge away from normal people."
