<chants> down in one, down in one, down in oooo-nn-ah!

But seriously, why not an indeterminate drink in a tall glass with some ice? Like thousands of people do in pubs every day.

Because a) Sunak does not know what happens in pubs b) the people who advise him drink far too much alcohol and so don't understand anything else.

Zonder · 29/05/2024 20:51

Fair points @Thingscanonlygetsunk

itsgettingweird · 29/05/2024 20:51

Is it a bit like when the food secretary made his daughter eat a beef burger in the midst of the BSE scandal to 'prove' it wasn't real?

And Johnson shaking hands with covid patients.

We all know how well that worked out for him

Saucery · 29/05/2024 20:52

I wasn’t even a massive fan of Angela Rayner, but every time she bobs back up from the smears and lies I hear triumphant strains of I’m Still Standing 🎶🎶 and I like her just that little bit more.

Zonder · 29/05/2024 20:57

Me too @Saucery - she's gone right up in my estimation.

I've revised my idea and now think it was the pub landlord on a bet from the locals to see if he will drink it.

Saucery · 29/05/2024 21:00

Anyway, it’s given me a flashback to working behind the bar in a Conservative Club and the old boys saying Not a LADY’S glass, a PROPER GLASS.
So, thanks a bundle, Rishi Angry

Ah right @Evenstar ! I always find it intriguing, and sometimes disturbing, the media opinion of Mumsnet.

I'm waiting for the right wing press to "discover" that covid originated, in fact, in Angela raynors spare room 🙄

Oh, shills are blaming her for alleged actions of her son right now. Hmm
In a way that doesn’t really happen the other way with, for instance…….Prue Leith, to pull a name randomly out of a hat…..

👀 yep
True

Yes, me too

Evenstar · 29/05/2024 22:23

Looks like someone was told to stand in front of the eye rolling lady https://x.com/simondale11/status/1795925517717151765?s=61&t=xKCXjKa1-S6Ks0nSd_LXGg

Notonthestairs · 29/05/2024 22:34

Yes, it's clear from the way he checked his phone before sidling in front of her.

So they have men on standby to block the public eye rolling 🙄 the PM.

I imagine they need a lot of them.

RafaistheKingofClay · 29/05/2024 22:39

Just spotted my MP in that clip I think I know where they are. If I see eye rolling lady around town I’m giving her a high five.

newnamethanks · 29/05/2024 22:49

Yes, that's a proper Man's Pint Glass. Unfortunately, in RS's hands it looks disproportionately large. He'd fit in it quite nicely.

Zonder · 29/05/2024 23:40

That's brilliant @BIossomtoes

BIossomtoes · 29/05/2024 23:42

I really hope it’s true.

newnamethanks · 30/05/2024 08:13

I've just seen Diane Abbott on tv. She doesn't look very well. I can't believe Labour has been short-sightedly stupid enough to screw up so comprehensively over this matter, everyone involved in it should be ashamed of themselves. A gift to the Tories. Give the woman her due, she's more than earned it.

Sadly there is some very tough calculating to be done.

Forget how things "look". The only questions are either:

"Will this prevent a voter in <insert somewhere in the red wall> putting an "X" in the Labour box ?"

or

"Will this gain us many votes in <again insert somewhere that isn't London> that we otherwise would nit have gained ?"

At this stage of the game, nothing else matters.
