No, @Notonthestairs . Maybe we do have a candidate and I just haven’t been able to find them! I’ll investigate further.

DuncinToffee · 24/05/2024 12:30

From Harry Cole

Shame the PM is restricting access and running a campaign that only takes a handful of handpicked titles to secret visits.

Second day in a row.

Oooh, I’ve found her by scrolling way, way down on the area’s Labour website. She looks pretty decent, actually, so I’ll be more than happy to vote for her, no nose-holding required Grin

Notonthestairs · 24/05/2024 12:51

Excellent 👌
I'm going to need to vote tactically so I'll wait until nearer the time.

Sunak communtiy noted again

The silly thing is that there is no way they wanted Sunak debating weekly with anyone. He didn't persuade his own party members last time around.

So it was a false offer in order to set up a narrative that Starmer won't debate.

Which is why they have to ignore the two agreed debates.

This is going to get old very fast.

BIossomtoes · 24/05/2024 12:55

As someone said earlier it’s going to be a loooooong six weeks.

I am quite ridiculously excited to have a candidate with a clue and a chance! Grin

Greg Clark standing down.

Greg Clark standing down.

Craig Mackinlay as well, very understandable in his case

Would it be quicker to list the Conservative MPs that aren't standing down?

Piggywaspushed · 24/05/2024 13:15

I'm yet to establish who is running in my constituency or even what it's called!

It’s looking that way. I’ve lost track of how many it is now.

countrygirl read you had good news as on day the election was called💐

I certainly did. Won't be confirmed until the end of the month but it would be insane not to make me redundant and it's perfect timing for me and a good package with long service😁

familiar mo, new name and posting time. There will be many to come.

Of course if anyone wants to fuck up the toryBot strategy, they just need to

  1. namechange
  2. find an absolutely bonkers idea for "AIBU to think if Labour win"
  3. post it
  4. Sit back and watch the waste of energy as it grows

Extra points if it remains unchallenged as real.

E,g,

"AIBU to think that if Labour win ...

-the rain will never stop
-alien paedophiles will set up camp in Basingstoke
-the earth will self destruct
-all of Africa will be invited to Jeremy Corbyns coronation.

you get the idea.

To think the UK will become a barren, post-apocalyptic, dystopian, hell-scape if Labour win? http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/amiibeingunreasonable/5081723-to-think-the-uk-will-become-a-barren-post-apocalyptic-dystopian-hell-scape-if-labour-win

nice use of apostrophes.

By the way, I do hope the Tories weren't actually relying on that AI shite they've been peddling us ...

I stumbled upon LLM Kryptonite and no one wants to fix it

Neural nets with flaws can be harmless … yet dangerous. So why are reports of problems being roundly ignored?

SerendipityJane · 24/05/2024 13:57

Apostrophes ? I mean hyphens

Or is an apostrophe a cross between a catastrophe and an asterisk ?

Notonthestairs · 24/05/2024 14:03

Sadly not my thread - I am appreciating the humour however. Lovely antidote to much of MN over the last couple of days.

BestIsWest · 24/05/2024 14:12

Surely that one is a joke? Surely?

Notonthestairs · 24/05/2024 14:14

If it isn't I've responded quite poorly. 😬😁

BestIsWest · 24/05/2024 14:12

Well the responses seem to think so.

This is a problem entirely of the Tories own making. You can't run your shills permanently. People simply tune them out. Thus driving you to even whackier and whackier titles to simply fee the beast.

And with tiresome predictability the Tory problem is finding and affecting the "don't knows". The problem being that even if every "don't know" could be directly translated into a Tory vote, they still ain't winning no election.

In all the excitement I missed that a prediction had been updated.

Did Sunk have a relaunch in May, which is why the Cons vote share has fallen?

reforms impact - a theoretical maximum of 15 seats (against an average expectation of "fuck all") is a stark reminder of how FPTP is meant to keep the nutters out.

Surely this isn't the mighty party that had JRM quaking in his little boots and holding on tighter than ever to nanny dearest ?
