Have they changed the ingredients...Sure deodorant doesn't seem to be cutting the mustard....

I dont know but I've noticed my deoderant doesn't work as well as it used to.

loropianalover · 20/05/2024 11:16

Mitchum is definitely not what it used to be! I get a lot more white cast/pilling as well.

VolvoFan · 20/05/2024 11:20

Everything's got a bit crap lately, and more expensive. I think it's more that people just aren't using it anymore. I think general hygiene has slipped and laziness has picked up owing to a lot more people working from home.

Tallesttiptoes · 20/05/2024 11:32

Yes! Noticing this too

DustyLee123 · 20/05/2024 11:33

I noticed that I changed as I got older, I needed a stronger deodorant

SplitFountainPen · 20/05/2024 11:33

It may be a hormonal change.

Disturbia81 · 20/05/2024 11:36

I'm not a big sweater but I'm active in the day, walk a lot etc and have tried every deo and nothing fully protects. It masks but I can still smell a bit of BO at the end of the day. I guess nothing will get rid of it completely

Spikyplant · 20/05/2024 11:36

Omg I was just thinking this today! I bought some Sure antiperspirant spray last week because of the hotter weather and I've been even more sweaty! I don't think it does anything.

I don't understand how they get away this advertising 72 hour protection when they don't even last 2 hours!

murasaki · 20/05/2024 11:53

I always find the 72 hour thing odd anyway. Surely even the skankiest person would have washed and reapplied deodorant well within 72 hours. So they are basically saying this deodorant is for scuzzers.

HavfrueDenizKisi · 20/05/2024 11:55

I found I had ti up my deodorant as I got older as previous ones weren't cutting it. To add to the problem sure and Mitchum also made my armpits itchy so was something in them that my body didn't like.

I use the Dove maximum protection. It comes in a box and is around £5 but I usually stock up when I see them reduced. Only thing that works for me.

BigDahliaFan · 20/05/2024 11:56

Damp pits just from walking into work this morning....and yes it's warm, and yes, I'm old...but you know?

Was thinking this. I had to reapply during the day at the weekend and it was hardly a scorcher.

BearSoFair · 20/05/2024 12:09

I just changed from Sure because of this! Mitchum seems better for me so far but seeing posters say that's changed as well...

Aworldofmyown · 20/05/2024 12:11

I suddenly found I was constantly wet and smelly under the arms, tried every spray deodorant but all the same. Then found this, it's amazing! (I think my issue is peri menopause)

dementedpixie · 20/05/2024 12:13

I use Sure maximum that comes in a box.
A few of the Sanex aren't antiperspirant now and are just deodorant so watch out for that

I use that one or the sure version
Usually pay around £22 on Amazon for 6 of them

Aworldofmyown · 20/05/2024 12:17

Also it lasts ages, unlike the sprays which I seemed to have to replace every couple of weeks.

DoYouSmokePaul · 20/05/2024 12:21

I use Perspirex which you put on before you go to bed and then wash off in the morning. I then use a regular deodorant. It works for me. Not a new thing for me unfortunately, always been excessively sweaty since my teens ☹️

spottyhotdog · 20/05/2024 12:23

I've noticed this over the last couple of weeks! I thought I was going mad. It used to last and I could smell it throughout the day. Sometimes I only had to apply once and lately just doesn't seem to work! It was the best one I've ever uaed

Gilead · 20/05/2024 12:25

Agree Sure isn’t what it use to be. But what bothers me is the price these days, a fiver for a can of deodorant! It’s not that long ago I was paying £1.25 for cheap stuff and two quid for the slightly posher deodorant. Dove, or Sure for example.

Portakalkedi · 20/05/2024 12:25

Not sure about that, but your deodorant needs definitely change as you get older, particularly at and past menopause.

I've used Driclor for this until I discovered Sure (cream stick - pink box) worked for me, but now I'll have to go back to Driclor. (I'm 30).

cattygorically · 20/05/2024 12:45

I've also noticed this! Just been switching my brands up this week actually and Aldi's own seems a bit better than my old trusty dove favourite.

aplthtoa · 20/05/2024 12:48

Yes had to stop using Dove because it wasn't working as well and I kept getting ingrown hair lumps, switched to a natural deodorant and it's stopped. I'm only mid 30s so not sure it would be hormonal change, I read that Dove had to change its manufacturing process or ingredients when the Ukraine war kicked off.
