Loving M&S again

Popped into M&S this morning and had a browse and finally they seem to have really turned a corner, there were so many items I could have bought today (if funds permitted). I settled for these:

Just been in and have come away with a pair of shorts, some very loud patterned trousers that my kids will hate, a swimsuit and cover up and a crochet tank. Pleasantly surprised,

Now just need the blood weather.

Must admit I saw a cream skirt advertised and liked it

Last summer I was extremely surprised to find X 3 bikinis that struck the elusive balance between covering my wobbly bits while still looking stylish,
And a lovely slim fit long v niece short sleeve v neck dress. I wore this to death on holiday including a day sightseeing in Naples. They weren't expensive either.

You can definitely strike gold there on occasion

They have some lovely stuff this year, they have a sleeveless linen type dress with pockets in a few colours that I’ve been meaning to try on.

The Sparks app is really handy I’d often get 15 or 20 % off bra’s, clothes, chocolates etc.

I buy most of my clothes from M&S because it’s one of the few high street shops with a decent tall range (I’m 6ft). Some of my favourite recent purchases:

Plus if you are close to a store their returns process using the app is the best of any high street store

I really like their girlfriend jeans.

Their order and returns process in store is great. Just package it up and scan the barcode on the parcel in store and drop it into the box. Don’t even need to use the app.

I've got two parcels from M&S on the way. I don't live near a store so have to shop online. I'm finding a lot of their stuff really good at the moment.

Their clothing does seem better, just need people to buy it which judging from my local city centre store doesn’t seem to be the case. Very quiet store considering it’s the main Manchester one, Rails massively crammed with product and a sale every other month. Granted it’s the COL situation but it’s clearly impacting sales significantly.

I’m not sure if it’s intentional but they’ve also changed the layouts so you can’t actually walk in a straight line without being blocked by a rack or three, must be a nightmare for disabled shoppers or those with prams.

Oh, I like those linen trousers.

I live in the US now and only realized earlier this year that M&S delivers here so I stocked up on underwear and got a lovely navy dress that looks great for work. There’s no shop where my Dad lives so I used to rush into the Edgware Road branch after getting off the Heathrow Express and buy packs of knickers. 🤣

They have some great handbags and sandals too just now.

Every season this thread comes up and nothing on M and S really changes. I was in the big one in Brent Cross last week and they sell only a quarter of the amount of shoes they used to. Terrible selection. Their swimwear is no longer displayed in its own section but mingled in with their other cheap looking beach accessories and there’s a miniscule selection. The only think I bought was a good quality ribbed vest and the usual knickers. I don’t even think my 74 year old mother would’ve been excited by it.

It definitely depends on the store. The one at the Gyle in Edinburgh is always the best of the best. I never leave without spending loads.

I went to M&S recently and was super disappointed at the poor choice.

ooo ... been looking for some nice wide leg trousers .... I'm off to have a look.

I've bought several pairs of trousers recently and a batch lot of £22 shirts that are brilliant for work - don't crease and only need a light iron. I still find their lingerie incredibly hit or miss though in terms of sizing.....

Bought those trousers in black and neutral they are lovely

Also got some embroidered black cotton beach shorts which are really nice.

They are definitely much improved. Lots of quality basics which is what M&S should do as staple

I've been disappointed every time I've been in to our localshop....and I get discount because DH works for them.

The sparks app is crap. I’ve not had a single offer since Christmas!

The stuff looks OK until you see it up close and look at the product description/labels and realise that nearly everything is polyester/nylon/acrylic.

I've been buying their high rise leggings for a while together with their thermal tights which are amazing!!! 👏🏼
