Would you kill...?

Hello again

This is my 2nd crime related post of the night! Have been binge-watching stuff.

My questions are:

  1. is there anyone you would kill if you knew 100% you would get away with it? (If yes, would you want to do it yourself or via a hitman?) and

  2. would you accept say £1million but you knew that a random person you don't know would drop dead?

Bet I'm going to have some fcked up dreams tonight!

Thanks for any responses.

@EatCrow Yeah, I really need to get outside tomorrow or at least watch some comedy!

I should have written Q1 so that it excluded like war criminals and stuff. I mean someone you just dislike or have a grudge with. If you could get rid of them and get away with it, would you do it.

Yes, I wanted a whole family dead (3 adults) and I felt sheer hatred towards them. Would have made my life so much easier but still something about my conscience (overburdened I think) drew a halt to killing them.

You’ve still got your humour, I cracked up when you said you’d do it even for something trivial 😁 I like black humour.

F1ymetothetoon · 31/03/2024 20:44

Yes I'd have that dangerous bastard Putin put down without batting an eyelid.

Second scenario ~ probably no.

buswankerz · 31/03/2024 20:44

Yes
Yes

And I would still sleep at night.

RottingInBed · 31/03/2024 20:45

@EatCrow I honestly keep a "naughty list" of people/companies who have pissed me off!

I know it's meant to be lighthearted but threads like these really make me despair of humanity.

It makes me think of how many people think they are essentially "good" people while also wanting to murder people they don't like. It gives me vibes of people like the French conspirators who gave up the neighbours they didn't like to the Nazis.

RottingInBed · 31/03/2024 20:47

Honestly, I'm (pleasantly?) surprised that folk are turning down 1m for the sake of their conscience! Or is it because you are all rich af?!!

Here's another one - would you steal a kidney from a random in order to save your child? (But random would die)

No, I don't think I would.

What if someone more dangerous takes his place and creates nuclear war? That you would be indirectly responsible for?

BlackCatsAreBrilliant · 31/03/2024 20:49

.1. No
There are some people I'd like to die (paedophiles, child murders), but I wouldn't want to be responsible for killing them.

.2. No
Because i couldn't live with myself if I caused an innocent person to die.

RickyGervaislovesdogs · 31/03/2024 20:49

@Boombatty I didn’t. I don’t think most of the posters actually would in reality, don’t despair. There are good people, raising good humans I promise you.

Since that has changed then

No
and
No.

1 million isn't worth it for the sickening realisation that you have killed a mothers child, potentially a child's parent (not to mention sibling etc). I couldn't live with it. Who knows, maybe it's in play now, but nobody knows 😉 apart from the bringers of said fortune. Isn't this like The Box? That didn't end well 🤣

Tezza1 · 31/03/2024 20:51
  1. Have you been reading Richard Matheson's short story, 'Button, Button', or one of its adaptations? One of them was 'The Box' with Cameron Diaz. That was the exact plot of the story.
fluffycloudalert · 31/03/2024 20:53

Squirrelsnut · 31/03/2024 20:13

  1. Yes. There are a few people I can think of who have caused the death and suffering of millions.
  2. Definitely not.

Likewise.

I can't believe how many people are answering.

LondonPleaseButJustForOneDay · 31/03/2024 20:55

Absolutely never, the guilt would eat me alive

Haha, I’ve got a long list in my head too. A lot of awful, traumatic things have happened to me over the last 6 years and this family’s cruelty almost broke me. I’m too nice 🫣 I did wish awful things on them though and my bad luck seemed to increase so I got pretty scared about the woo - you know things coming back on you.

Yeah, it would have been so much easier to just bayonet the effers.

Irridescantshimmmer · 31/03/2024 20:56

RottingInBed · 31/03/2024 20:56

@Tezza1 no, haven't heard of that but will take a look, thanks!

I do enjoy a brain-teaster or ethical conundrum! I was obsessed with "the trolley problem" for years - where you have to decide whether to run over 1 people or 5 people etc etc.

DramaAlpaca · 31/03/2024 20:57
  1. Yes. One particular person who has caused enormous harm.

  2. I'd love the money, but no.

No

ChanelNo19EDT · 31/03/2024 21:01

No, because I'd have to live with having done it x 2

No one I know personally, but a few others, e.g. Putin. It would have to be via a hitman I think.

would you accept say £1million but you knew that a random person you don't know would drop dead?
Absolutely not.

BinkyBeaufort · 31/03/2024 21:06

Yes
Yes
Both politicians, one Russian, one an orange American.
I'd probably get a medal.

F1ymetothetoon · 31/03/2024 21:08

@Boombatty I think you should lighten up and smoke a joint/have a glass of wine/do a jigsaw or whatever lights your candle.
