See what I did there 😉

So, Geri's in Bahrain holding hands with him. And all we can think is "WE KNOW WHAT'S BEEN ON THAT FINGER!!!"

I always thought she'd do the "Fighting bravely through the tears" schtick.

Oh ok, it's definitely her fault then. Deserves everything she gets 🙄

She's already had it!

Love your line ".... we women don't like that, you know." @Geebray

Real Girl Power - for the sisterhood !

As if this whole sorry state of affairs couldn’t get worse, that nasty piece of work that is Jos Verstappen, has now come out and said CH should step down. As sordid as this whole thing is, the women involved are just being used by powerful elitist arseholes to further their own personal agendas. Dickfingers all of them.

I totally agree.

I used to quite enjoy F1 but the past few years of Red Bull with greasy Horner, that vile PoS Jos Verstappen's involvement, and his son who I can't stand and whose girlfriend's father is also a PoS with past/present heavy involvement in F1, the whole thing is toxic.

Red Bull as a team needs booting out.

7Summers · 03/03/2024 11:01

Their relationship started with him cheating with her when his ex was pregnant with his child, what did she expect?

The pair of them are awful people and well matched. Poor children though.

AiryFairy101 · 03/03/2024 11:49

The whole thing is an awful mess🤦🏻‍♀️

puddlehopper · 03/03/2024 12:02

She is not a young woman, she’s a woman in her forties.

Are you sure she is in her forties? I saw photos and she looks younger than that, unless they are old photos from her younger days, either that or she looks much younger than she is. She is very attractive.

ssd · 03/03/2024 12:05

Gummybear23 · 03/03/2024 07:44

Geri no one is worth the humiliation and disrespect.

Dont be paraded around for this man.
It don't look natural and you look understandably anguished.

She looks like she's desperate to hang onto him

Millie890 · 02/03/2024 22:50

I can't understand why she is being criticised... Why victim blame? the fact that he is in the wrong (yet again) and everybody is pouncing on his wife as if she's to blame is exactly how he gets away with his nasty, manipulative, smug attitude. Same with his race cheating. He gets away with murder! It's probably not as simple for her as "just leave him", given how vile he is.

Edited

I really don't think you can call this victim blaming. I think people rightly feel disappointed they bought the emblem of Girlpower is walking side by side with a man who has treated a female employee so appallingly. Christian Horner is one hundred percent to blame and I think most people hoped Geri would stand against this behaviour and not give it her stamp of approval.

Geri is 51.

She left uni in 2002 so she would be about 43 ish if she went at 18.

I was referring the the post saying the PA is in her forties and not a young woman.

Not really, its a story as old as the hills...

Rich and powerful man plays away

Wife who rides on his tailgate clings onto him for dear life

Other woman gets a pay out

...and they all lived happily ever after, with their pr team feeding the media pictures of domestic bliss...

The assistant is in her 40s

I think she mentions she is his PA in some of the messages.

Started watching the new season of Drive to Survive, opening scene is Santa at the Horners home, and asking if Dad has been a good boy 😁😁 How apt. Wonder if the PA appears during the show..

Are they in all the seasons? I might start watching if it's this much of a soap opera all the time...

AiryFairy101 · 03/03/2024 12:28

I worked in a place where the boss was seeing a subordinate, both married with kids etc. She was particularly “happily married” and flaunted it on FB to show the world how wonderful her life was. Then she started doing really weird shit at work. The boss had lost all his power to deal with her. She had messages etc. too I’d imagine, and he was terrified she’d turn on him.

The point of the story is, the boss in this case, was completely disempowered by the mistress, he had lost complete control of her and the situation, and she loved the “new power” she had… He couldn’t get rid of her , she was running rough shod over him and other senior leaders. Leaders were afraid to “ out him”, he was their boss. It was literally a shit explosion. These relationships impact the wider work-place and cause a LOT of problems.

This maybe what happened at RB. The woman may have started flexing her muscles in areas where her input is not appreciated. Speaking from experience, things get very, very, messy.

CagneyAndLazy · 03/03/2024 12:44

Having read the alleged messages, I would think more likely that he wouldn't leave her alone and it got to the point where she raised a grievance because of it - as left with no other option - rather than her wanting to take advantage of her perceived power over CH.

Of course, we don't know if the messages are truly genuine and if they are, I'm sure we are only seeing part of the story.

AiryFairy101 · 03/03/2024 13:24

We don’t know if the alarm was raised internally in RB by her…it may not have been…

All the talk of internal power struggle suggests someone else may have brought it to the attention of HR…?!

LoreleiG · 03/03/2024 13:41

Entertaining though I have found all this, if Jos Verstappen is somehow involved, he is by all accounts a hundred times less likeable than (even) CH and CH in fairness built RB up from scratch. Perhaps CH had good reason to fear the PA giving JS confidential information.

He's a despicable, abusing wanker of a man. He abused his past partners, he was an abusive dad to Max when he was a young child and yet he swans around like he's cock of the walk when he was a poor F1 driver in his time. Absolute despise him.

MumOfOneAwesomeHuman · 02/03/2024 18:06

I've read all the messages so speaking from an informed position and not just speculating...

I love F1. Watched it my whole life but today I was ashamed to watch with my DD. We have F1 academy and More Than Equal working hard to bring girls and women into the sport and this is what they have to look forward to. A sport that allows this horrendous behaviour from a man, and it goes unpunished while his wife walks proudly beside him. He tells the tv cameras the team is united, the owner standing by his side. No doubt the victim who says in the messages how much she loves her job as he presses her to call him, to wear the Spanx he likes etc has no doubt lost her job.

Shame on F1 and the FIA for letting him stand there today in Bahrain as a role model to so many. And shame on Geri for endorsing his behaviour.

A sad day for women and girls who love the sport.

I agree with all this 100% and you have worded it so well that I've copied the bulk of your comment and posted it in the comments of absolutely every F1 related Facebook page I follow, including RBR, Official F1, Mercedes etc! The more I did, the more new 'suggested' pages' came up so it's on them too! I'm so angry he's still got a job. 🤬
I honestly have no sympathy for Geri, she chose to parade herself next to her grimy husband yesterday. Could've laid low but didn't. So I will again comment on it - what's with her weird one-eye squint? Every time I see it she reminds me of Madame Gazelle whenever somebody mentions glitter!!

Oooooh, serious escalation this afternoon!!

Jos Verstappen (Max Verstappen, Red Bull driver and current World Champion's Dad - holds huge influence in the RBR garage, with owners, sponsors and with the company as a whole) has just given an interview to Talksport (a very reputable source, obviously), including this statement...

"There is tension here while he remains in position. The team is in danger of being torn apart. It can't go on the way it is. It will explode. He is playing the victim, when he is the one causing problems'.

OUCH!

His own are turning on him.

This does NOT look good for the Horners!

RockaLock · 03/03/2024 14:22

The irony of Jos Verstappen wading in this, given his history ConfusedHmm
