So, Geri's in Bahrain holding hands with him. And all we can think is "WE KNOW WHAT'S BEEN ON THAT FINGER!!!"

I can't understand why she is being criticised... Why victim blame? the fact that he is in the wrong (yet again) and everybody is pouncing on his wife as if she's to blame is exactly how he gets away with his nasty, manipulative, smug attitude. Same with his race cheating. He gets away with murder! It's probably not as simple for her as "just leave him", given how vile he is.

There is nothing wrong if she wants to try to work on their marriage, but to allow herself be paraded out like that, kissing him and holding hands, is a double insult to her dignity. It was more than cringeworthy and she looked utterly pathetic in comparison to his smug look.

She should have stayed in her hotel and let him, at least appear like someone who is paying some price for cheating on his wife, she would not have come across as a desperate wife and a weak person, trying to cling on to her cheating husband and pretending nothing is wrong.

As if this whole sorry state of affairs couldn’t get worse, that nasty piece of work that is Jos Verstappen, has now come out and said CH should step down. As sordid as this whole thing is, the women involved are just being used by powerful elitist arseholes to further their own personal agendas. Dickfingers all of them.

I disagree about it not being major in the context of him being TP and her a subordinate employee. Had they not been colleagues I agree it’s fairly low level but the power differential in the work place means she was not in a position to tell him no when she decided to end it.

I'm not convinced it was the PA you know. I know why people assume that but there are other women in the team that aren't PAs.

I agree re Jos Verstappen's comments though @mrschocolatte - I'm not sure how much lower it could be for Red Bull at the moment.

Someone, somewhere worked out the name from the top of one of the screenshots. It was the PA.

If the messages were fake CH, RB and possibly FIA and FOM would all have put out a press release to that effect. There is no benefit to any of them staying silent which implies they are genuine.

Why would CH (or anyone) deliberately put his wife through the public humiliation if he could simply say sorry folks they are fakes.

WRT the investigation dismissing the complaint it didn’t feel right to me. It appeared they had followed a good process but it is very rare for someone to go outside the organisation with no evidence.

I accept the messages may be fake or paint a biased picture but I cannot see how all the complaints were dismissed. It may not be gross misconduct but there is evidence of unfair treatment in work and not being able to say stop and have it respected.

I do agree there is a political element to the leaks etc.

I’m not sure the affair partner is a pawn. Not at the start. Her position is now untenable and she didn’t wish to leave. She cannot continue to be his Pa. Not after this. They simply can’t work together and no other f1 team principle will take her. She was always going to be out though, so she had nothing to lose.

so ultimately she’s behind this. I can only assume it started with him not wanting to leave Geri and escalated when it was clear she would loose her job. So she’s attacked as she had nothing to loose, and now politics have actually taken over, but just in terms of if he stays or not.

i suspect the reason he was cleared was because this was a consensual affair that ended badly.

but now it’s about politics and f1. He is important to the team. Not easily replaced, and she is not important to the team. She is easily replaced.

Absolutely this. I love the sport but its insistence on staying in the dark ages where women are still just seen as accessories is infuriating. It needs to be much more diverse and inclusive and things like this are holding it back.

But then Mazepin was allowed to drive after what he did so I am not surprised the misogynistic top dogs are starting to close ranks around CH.

Whether you like Lewis or not, he's been the leading fighter for greater inclusivity. In a similar way Jackie Stewart was for safety.

Whilst I don't totally disagree I think this misses the filter of those WhatsApp's being evidence of misconduct. She wasn't evidencing an affair, she was evidencing controlling behaviour and so the chats you would submit would be those that you felt directly supported that. Ie you would only present some chats, not all. Because many would be n/a to the charges.

I've been told involved in a few HR investigations and you always get a selection of communication, not just everything. Just the ones the complainant felt supported their claim.

In the messages it was made clear she was his PA when she said something like "I'm your PA, it's pointless being in another hotel".

Oh come on. He and his PR team, and Red Bull's PR team, and F1's PR team, would be out and loud saying they were fakes, if they were!
