Clearly there is much more to this than the public knows.
if we simply take what we know.
horner said this was a grievance raised by an angry employee who wanted promotion and didn’t get it.
redbull followed process, due to his position they hired Deloitte and a legal team to carry out the investigation independently.
no one knows if there was disciplinary against the woman at the same time.
redbull and Horner continued to follow process and maintained confidentiality as they need to with any form of grievance in a workplace setting.
someone leaked it was about coercive control.
someone leaked it was sexual harrassment.
someone leaked an Avalanche of messages, in an extreme way, sending to 149 people.
horner and redbull stated they would not comment on these messages.
it is unlikely these messages or leaks came from Horner, red bull, Deloitte or the lawyers.
as such ultimately they can only have come from the woman.
we do not know if the messages are genuine. People are simply assuming. It is feasible they are faked. As in take some genuine messages and easily supplement and change. We all know the chain is disjointed.
hornee was cleared by the lawyers and Deloitte.
the woman has been suspended following the investigation, for dishonesty and inconsistency in the investigation.
shes 5 days to appeal
even though this grievance is in place, and the massive leaks and attacks on Horner, she still asked if she could go to Bahrain with him to support the team, incredibly odd behaviour due to the high profile and sensitivity at the time.
so no one knows other than Horner, the woman, red bull, Deloitte and the lawyers what the real story is here, but we can be sure of some things.
red bull would not suspend of move to terminate if there was even one iota of chance she could win any form of legal action.
it will be 100 percent iron clad and evidenced, no chances will be taken.
red bull and Horner as director, have acted throughout as employers handling an employee grievance and disciplinary. Only commenting when forced and even then in brief.
as such, we don’t know if these accusations were genuine, or if they were false, inc the messages, and from a disgruntled employee.
we can then only draw our own conclusions, which is this is overwhelmingly likely to be false accusations from a disgruntled employee as otherwise red bull would not be acting on the advice of Deloitte and external legal to suspend and potentially move to termination.
false allegations happen. They are rare, but they happen. And it would be foolish of anyone to assume the allegations against Horner are true. I myself did it, but the actions of red bull when it needs to be water tight, indicate we may all have been mistaken.
and if that’s the case, then Horner and his family have just been to hell and back for nothing,
