See what I did there 😉

So, Geri's in Bahrain holding hands with him. And all we can think is "WE KNOW WHAT'S BEEN ON THAT FINGER!!!"

I always thought she'd do the "Fighting bravely through the tears" schtick.

So, BBC are saying that the employer was told it was because they'd been dishonest. So perhaps in making the claims? Really really not a good look for the team unless they can prove that.

Making malicious and vexatious grievances is a disciplinary offence. They would have to evidence that though and prove the messages were not real. It can’t be just that they just had a difference of opinion on what the messages meant/were suggesting.

He's such an odious man

And a book deal.

I don't think that's an impossible scenario... Where would Max go?

Mercedes? I think everyone’s expecting them to fill Hamilton’s seat with a new young driver but surely they’d love to take Max on. There’s clearly no love lost between CH and Toto #teamtoto

WorkingFromHomeShite · 07/03/2024 15:49

It’s all very curious. There is something about him that just screams ‘boring grey man’ even though he presumably works in an exciting world.

I assume F1 is exciting, I don’t actually know anything about it.

piealhxiprshl · 07/03/2024 15:54

It might be that Red Bull were able to prove the PA was the one who leaked the Drive to all of those people. That is worthy of a suspension in any company.

This was my assumption, I'm assuming the suspension is recent and not something that happened prior and is now being reported (which would be concerning considering he wasn't suspended).

The only thing RBR will be caring about right now is the brand partners' perception of it all, and they will be watching the public reaction. Sadly, I'm not sure many people care too much about this stuff, he's an Important Man. 🙄

TokyoSushi · 07/03/2024 15:58

He's getting a right grilling on the F1 press conference just now (it's on Sky News) he looks very sad/pissed off.

Looking at him, I'd say it is all true, and he's in hot water in a lot of areas of his life. You reap what you sow. #AlsoTeamToto

The other arm and hand...

What the actual fuck. Is he ever going to face any consequences of all his appalling behaviour.

storagefilter · 07/03/2024 16:04

I personally don’t think the WhatsApp’s released are genuine. Has it been verified that they are 100% between the two of them and not made up to be released falsely?

TokyoSushi · 07/03/2024 16:05

If they were false though, surely it would be easier for him to say 'the allegations are completely false?'

shenandoahvalley · 07/03/2024 16:09

Toto said a day or two ago that he doesn't anticipate Max coming to Mercedes in the near future, as drivers go to whoever has the quickest car (viz Hamilton going to Ferrari). Max would be a fool to leave RBR at this point. And personally I think his dad is behind almost all of this. That man is heinous. To the point I actually feel a bit sorry for Max who, thus far, I had less than zero sympathy for.

I thought he had though but do admit to not knowing who is is or following F1 so perhaps not. I’m just going by snippets on the news and here.

How on earth does suspending her make them look like they are handling the situation well in any way? I'd be interested to know the reasons, not that we probably will. He's already been spotted in Saudi today so clearly working.

In a situation like this it would be pretty standard for msot employers to suspend the person while they investigate. Suspension does not mean guilt.

JJathome · 07/03/2024 16:28

I find it curious they habe suspended her. They will have had very, very strong legal grounds to do so. Due to the publicity they won’t take a risk, it will be iron clad.

My take would be she is the one who leaked. Horner and red bull saying this is a confidential matter and unfortunately it was leaked, is I think an indication here.

I think they had an intimate relationship of some sort , it’s clear the full message chains were not released, but parts held back, ie it’s obvious she’d been sending him pics ie the Spanx, and now she’s brought the team into disrepute by leaking them and leaked in a way that manipulates it to hide her side and make it look more him, and done so in such a spectacular way ie emailed to 150 people,

I think thr messages are genuine, they’d have said otherwise, and Horner’s statement today says it was private between two employees, and red bull, says they are genuine, but obviously it’s not the full chains that have been leaked, much of her part has been held back to make it look a certain way.

i suspect it’s breach of confidentially and bringing the team into disrepute and they are going to fire her.

They didn’t suspend either of them in the initial investigation and the suspension is the result of the investigation. Not because it’s just starting. The investigation is complete.

HornyHornersPinger · 07/03/2024 16:34

I'm disgusted they've suspended her, I don't care what messages she held back that might show she's a willing participant - she was his subordinate and he crossed a line. Now it's 'big powerful man' is protected while the woman is punished. I'm mad! 🤬

HornyHornersPinger · 07/03/2024 16:37

Who's good with words?? I'd love to complain to the FIA but can never word anything well! Anyone fancy drafting a template letter of complaint we can copy and edit to fit? Something along the lines of the poor message it sends to women and girls everywhere, especially with international Women's Day!

We don't know that. They investigated Horner and decided he hadn't done anything wrong. People can debate the morality of what he did but they conducted the equivalent of a grievance hearing and decided to take no action. Now it seems they are looking into other matters. If things came to lght about other staff during the enquiry that would be the correct thing to do.

She was suspended as a result of the investigation. They would have had very strong legal grounds. There is clearly more to this than any of us know. I was speculating, the truth I habe no idea other than what everyone else does. She was suspended following rhe investigation . They would have had the legal grounds. For all we know the messages are fake and they aren’t saying as she’s about to be fired and irs confidential

We do know that, both employees continued to work there during the investigation. She has now been suspended as a result of that investigation

Oh come off it. If they weren't genuine then Horner/Red Bull/F1 would be screaming that from the rooftops!

No they wouldn't. Neither Horner or Red Bull have made any comments on any of this. The only time they have addressed any of this publicaly is after it has been leaked and they ahve had no choice.

Red Bull would have conducted this whole thing in private (as would any good employer) were it not for the leaks to the press. People are missing the bigger picture here. This is part of a power struggle between two factions within Red Bull one of which wants Horner gone and the other does not.

I thought so too, but as this is an employment issue it is feasible they habe taken the confidentiality route.

either way none of us know anything other than an investigation, by Deloitte, he was cleared, she is suspended, and they absolutely would habe have a cast iron legal case to do so, due to the publicity this has generated.

As much as I agree on your first comment on confidentiality , and Horner would keep confidentiality if an employee is being terminated, and say guilty of gross misconduct. Even if it hurts him personally.

i dont Really believe this is about a power struggle, thats just media hype. Something far more personal is going on with this employee.
