Your favourite way to eat pasta

If I'm out I love a well made lasagne. At home, for a quick and easy dinner, I love making a sauce with Boursin cheese and having it with penne, mixed with chicken and doused in doused in lemon. Anything creamy and garlicky is a winner.

And sometimes you just can't beat a good plate of (very cheesy) macaroni cheese with garlic bread. I'm not sure if that last one is a British thing or a Scottish concoction. Up here macaroni cheese always comes with garlic bread.

What's your favourite way to have pasta? Answers in more detail than "by the tonne weight" please.

Lasagne

With seafood and a tomato sauce

With chicken and pesto

Carbonara

It's all good.

With garlic oil, cheese and garlic bread. Any way it comes.

Arrabiata, always.

I love simple pasta Alfredo - chicken, garlic, butter, cream and lots and lots of Parmesan. Topped with loads of black pepper 😋

Nigella’s mushroom linguine from her Express book is divine.

My ultimate favourite meal is spaghetti with clams, but I can’t often get them where l live so it tends to be a holiday treat.

I love garlic, parsley, extra Virgin olive oil, salt and pepper.

Sgtmajormummy · 26/02/2024 20:13

Trofiette (floury white twists) al Pesto.
There’s a certain type of fusilli which are smaller and looser made by Agnesi. With home made meat sauce.

The Boursin pasta sounds amazing!

I love a good lasagne or carbonara, or a rigatoni arrabiata with chicken and lots of cheese. All always with garlic bread!

Had to Google trofiette. I'm fascinated by how many types of pasta there are. Hundreds!

There should be a book where you tick off which ones you've tried. Like a birdwatching book but tastier.

More socially acceptable that just biting into the Boursin like a big cheesy apple

I love a cacio e pepe with so much black pepper I have to sleep it off

BurntOrange · 26/02/2024 20:16

Mary Berry had a gorgeous recipe - Pistou Linguine - a sauce made from fresh chives, parsley, garlic and basil blended with creme fraiche and Parmesan and served with linguine and chestnut mushrooms. I add chicken as well

Bonjovispjs · 26/02/2024 20:17

Pasta cooked with mushrooms, onions and sweetcorn, then after draining the water off, add a mountain of grated extra mature cheddar, it's the best 😋

Surroundedbyfools · 26/02/2024 20:17

That Boursin chicken pasta with lemon sounds divine ! How do u make it OP ?

I like lasagne too. I abso like a Cajun chicken pasta I make which is sauce made of double cream, Parmesan, garlic, Cajun seasoning mixed in with pasta, chopped up Cajun chickrn and tenderstem broccoli tips.

God love you but this sounds vile. You've managed to ruin pasta!!

(I'm glad you enjoy it so much though)

DH makes a divine trofie with homemade pesto and very thinly-sliced potato.

Left to myself on a solo evening, I’ll make a very hot penne arrabiata with lots of black olives. There needs to be far too much sauce.

PianPianPiano · 26/02/2024 20:18

My guilty pleasure is bacon chopped up and fried with onion and garlic, maybe some frozen peas thrown in too, and then all stirred through spaghetti with ketchup and loads of cheddar cheese and black pepper. Yes, I know the ketchup bit is just wrong, but it's delicious like this and I won't hear otherwise.

Less ketchup based would be with a creamy mushroom sauce. Maybe a bit of chicken.

Bobbybobbins · 26/02/2024 20:19

I would eat pasta every day if I could! Love it all!
Lasagne
Spag bol
Seafood tomato sauce
Crab and chilli linguine
Carbonara
With anchovies, capers etc
Chorizo and chilli
Filled mushroom tortellini

Dearg · 26/02/2024 20:20

caeserecce with crushed pistaschios, garlic, chilli, oilive oil and Parmesan.

MrsBobtonTrent · 26/02/2024 20:24

My fave easy cupboard ingredient treat. Stir in a jar of mushrooms and plenty of tapenade. An absolute delight.

eandz13 · 26/02/2024 20:25

Creamy chicken tagliatelle with garlic, shallots and white wine, specifically the way DP makes it, oooof

Spicy chicken and chorizo, lots of peppers and onions, also heavy on the cream

And I love proper OTT gooey mac & cheese with diced crisp bacon

Basically if it's not full of cream, cheese or butter, I don't want it
