Get a box, put the in btwn stuff in and stash it somewhere
You'll soon know if you need it

bizzey · 02/03/2024 17:32

I think I am going to have to look into Vinted .

I have just got a box thing and am going to put the stuff I definitely know I don't need in that ...

Stupid stuff I bought in a rush and missed the returns date !

Penguinsa · 02/03/2024 17:50

Thanks Tillly, Havoc and MissC Hopefully I will have something sorted here within the next few weeks.

Went to Kentwell today and saw the lambs, rainbows, and had a lovely but muddy walk, beautiful blossom on the trees (pics attached) and then went onto Wicken Fen did the boardwalk which was nice. Now back and had a bath and now having a cup of tea. DD has been at an all night party with friends and then at work and we are awaiting her home. I got DS a North Face hoodie and fleece joggers as MN informs me its in fashion for teen boys to be dressed as middle aged hikers and he did indeed have a bath and put them on but not the trainers.

Looks lovely @Penguinsa

mathanxiety · 02/03/2024 19:51

Looks like a gorgeous place to visit, penguinsa.
Counter space is a precious commodity in my kitchen too. Freeing up a square foot close to an outlet makes a big difference for baking. So good to hear your DS is eating.
Please send good wishes to Prok if you manage to make contact.

MissC your daughter's dress is stunning - I absolutely love lace for a wedding.

I used to be a member of Costco and may rejoin for the petrol prices and the soft serve ice cream. I really don't have room to store the massive packages of food and paper goods they sell. There are two near me.

There are two Aldis too, but the one I go to less frequently is arranged like a mirror image of my usual one, which makes me feel like Alice Through the Looking Glass. The experience is very discombobulating.

The weather has perked up again after the cold front passed on so I might head out for a walk.

Umanresources · 02/03/2024 20:14

@mathanxiety “There are two Aldis too, but the one I go to less frequently is arranged like a mirror image of my usual one, which makes me feel like Alice Through the Looking Glass. The experience is very discombobulating.”
Yes that’s my Costco problem too.

@bizzey . My daughter uses Vinted for both buying and selling and has had some lovely stuff from there. I’ve decided it’s going to be one in, one out for me, but I need to get rid of things I have no intention of ever wearing again. I did manage to fill 5 bin bags last year of clothes that went to the guides for weighing in for charity. So many still with labels on them. I know there are boxes in the loft as well and I have no inclination to ever go up there. I bought my OH a head torch hoping he would go up and film it all for me. I’m sure there is a box of photos somewhere and it’s driving me mad thinking about them.

Making pancakes! Woke up to snow at 4:00am, or so. It's mostly gone now (12:30pm here). Will sit down and read new posts over brekkie. 😀

What a beautiful dress Miss classic and won’t date in photos. She must be very excited. June will come round so quickly.

I’ve done child ferrying, housework and been to work for 4.5 hours. I have a project due and a free afternoon so went in to get on with it which no distractions.

MissConductUS · 02/03/2024 21:47

Thanks for all of the lovely comments about the dress. I think it's beautiful too, but it's nice to hear that others agree. And June is coming up fast, with lots still to do for the wedding. DD is both excited and a bit nervous. Thank goodness for the wedding planner, who has been excellent about keeping everything on track.

Havoc, it was a bit of a shock when she announced the engagement last fall, but I shouldn't have been that surprised. I was a bit concerned at first about her getting married so young, but I have since changed my mind. She's been in a relationship with him for five or six years; he's a lovely young man and quite a catch. They would probably never get back together if they went their separate ways after uni. And so many women put marriage off until their thirties, then struggle to find a decent bloke who is still single. The on line dating threads here on MN are full of horror stories about it.

They're both very sensible and responsible young people. All I can do is support them and hope it all works well in the long run.

I have the invitations mostly assembled and have taken one to the PO to have it weighed and bought stamps. They needed a two ounce stamp, which costs 98 cents. They had some lovely ones, fortunately. I will finish them tomorrow, take them to another PO on Monday, and ask to have them hand-canceled so they don't get damaged in the machinery.

It's cold and rainy here today, but tomorrow is supposed to be nicer. The men went and got haircuts together this afternoon. DH is making dinner tonight.

Bedroom sort out is going 50 % ok !

Thanks to a glass or 2 of wine and a curry made by ds...I did make progress.

Was funny when ds2 came home from work earlier than expected though !

I heard him come in ....about 5 hours earlier than what he usually comes in at on a Saturday...😅..

I shouted out an apology for the obstacle course on the landing...

He then went into his room and burst out laughing...and said what's with the 2 suitcases and big box in my room ....is it a hint to move out
!!
😂😂😂😂

No my love....I just forgot I had put them there !!

I have re organised the top of my wardrobe.

Those things were going up last .

But I need one for next week so was keeping it aside.

bizzey · 02/03/2024 23:14

My back has beaten me though...so I have finished for now...

I am mellowing with a cuppa and a Crunchie chocolate bar ....which I discovered last week on a whim ....and is definitely...the food of the Gods !!

bizzey · 02/03/2024 23:18

Fun fact ....
I have found enough envelopes of all different sizes to set up my very own stationery store !!

Mumtobabyhavoc · 02/03/2024 23:18

Oh god Bizzey, I hate things that stick to teeth... Crunchie is one such thing! Give me a plain square of chocolate like Lindt Seasalt or Chili, though....
Glad you made progress in your room. Satisfying, isn't it? I haven't had wine in about a year and a half...and the couple glasses I had did me in! 😹

bizzey · 02/03/2024 23:56

Havoc ...
I love honeycomb and Crunchy is one of my faves ....but unfortunately....my teeth have had other ideas and won't let me bite into them anymore 😔😭😂😂!

So the chocolate bars are the next best fix .

Chocolate sponge, caramel cream and honeycomb bits in it !

Taste of Crunchy...but gentler on the teeth !

Hummmm..Chilli chocolate.....
I have heard about it ...but never tried it ...

bizzey · 02/03/2024 23:57

Forgot to say ....no Banana Bread made yet .....as I keep forgetting to buy the flippin bananas !

Mumtobabyhavoc · 03/03/2024 00:02

Bizzey...and I've been waiting for you to post your result!!!😁

bizzey · 03/03/2024 01:14

These are the things I can't throw out !
Teacher put it in a dinner money bag while he was at school !😍...

teacher very kindly did not seal the envelope

bizzey · 03/03/2024 01:15

So it could get put back !

MallardsMoorhensAndLethe · 03/03/2024 01:16

Penguinsa I hope you can get scanned soon. Those blossom trees are lovely and peacocks are so beautiful.

The dress is stunning MissC. June is coming up fast. They seem well suited and to know their own minds.

Bizzey I hope you can find the strength to declutter all those things you didn't know existed, they really are the untimate in pointlessness. I think that stage happens to everyone if they go too long without decluttering. Ending up with multiples of the same thing too, from buying what they had but couldn't find.

Delicious pancakes Havoc.

I baked a cake today and ate it still warm from the oven.

HelenaJustina · 03/03/2024 17:58

DC3 made brownies today and DC1 is making NYC style cookies as I type… it’s a beautiful day here, I walked home from Mass and it felt like Spring!

MissConductUS · 03/03/2024 18:53

It feels like spring here today, too, Helena. It's sunny and 20C.

What are NYC style cookies?

OP posts:
Mumtobabyhavoc · 03/03/2024 19:35

Yes, Helena - tell us more about the cookies! 😋
what kind of cake did you make, Mallards?

I've been fighting some sort of cold (again!) since Friday. I think I caught it from Havoc's play-school on Tuesday. A very cute snotty nosed toddler (also bright red cheeks) showed up after us and I thought, Uh oh.
Havoc has been playing with a Christmas cookie tin since last night. Banging it like a drum. Like. A. Drum.
🙉🥁
Baby is starting to vocalize and smile a lot. Seems amused by Havoc. 🩷

Mumtobabyhavoc · 03/03/2024 20:40

Helena, have read through the recipe. That's a lotta chocolate! 😁Haven't head that NY is famous for choc chip cookies...guessing Miss hasn't either. I have heard of Levain Bakery , though. I've saved the recipe and plan to try it! Thanks for the share. 🥰

sproutsandparsnips · 03/03/2024 20:58

Well done Bizzey!
Beautiful dress Miss
Hope you get scan soon Penguinsa
Helena, it is a beautiful day here too, went for little stroll before watching DS2 play rugby.
Made Welsh cakes on 29th Feb and 2nd March as I was working on St Davids Day itself. They were very well received by all.
