Thanks for all of the lovely comments about the dress. I think it's beautiful too, but it's nice to hear that others agree. And June is coming up fast, with lots still to do for the wedding. DD is both excited and a bit nervous. Thank goodness for the wedding planner, who has been excellent about keeping everything on track.
Havoc, it was a bit of a shock when she announced the engagement last fall, but I shouldn't have been that surprised. I was a bit concerned at first about her getting married so young, but I have since changed my mind. She's been in a relationship with him for five or six years; he's a lovely young man and quite a catch. They would probably never get back together if they went their separate ways after uni. And so many women put marriage off until their thirties, then struggle to find a decent bloke who is still single. The on line dating threads here on MN are full of horror stories about it.
They're both very sensible and responsible young people. All I can do is support them and hope it all works well in the long run.
I have the invitations mostly assembled and have taken one to the PO to have it weighed and bought stamps. They needed a two ounce stamp, which costs 98 cents. They had some lovely ones, fortunately. I will finish them tomorrow, take them to another PO on Monday, and ask to have them hand-canceled so they don't get damaged in the machinery.
It's cold and rainy here today, but tomorrow is supposed to be nicer. The men went and got haircuts together this afternoon. DH is making dinner tonight.
